I think the Garrus romance has at least the last point you made.  Both of them have a history with you so romance seems more natural.  But I agree that the tali romance was the Dev's baby, they gave you so many hints.  And because of that, it is strange that I didn't catch on until after the Suit environment discussion.  Unfortunately I was romancing Mirranda at the time, but the Tali romance was probably the biggest reason I started a new playthrough.

I kept smiling and shaking my head wondering how in the heck that works, but the dev's pulled it off, in my opinion.  Sex would have been stupid and shallow, and would have made no sense at all.

Good point about the Garrus romance.  I haven't played as Femshep yet so I haven't seen that one ;)

Also, you're right about the "sex would have been stupid and shallow" with Tali.  Just being able to kiss and touch each others skin means the world to her; so far as I can tell, the idea they had sex is merely assumption by the more...shall we say "hardcore" Tali-fanboys (and Tali-haters to an extent).

Also, should have said this in my original post but to the OP...really just pick whoever you connect with better.  Liara's role in ME2 is limited but I am 100% certain she'll be back in a big way for ME3.

I haven't played as Femshep either and I couldn't sit through the youtube video.  Seeing my bro garrus romancing shep, even if the genders are reversed, just...didn't sit well.  But if all you've ever played is femshep or are a female or are less empathetic than myself then there shouldn't be a problem.  And the Talimancers and Hardcore tali fans can get very base in their expectations.  I really wouldn't want to be caught in a dark alley with one of them if I were a 20 something woman.  Even if they would ever do something, you would know they were thinking about it.

Also, I agree that the OP should choose whoever they prefer.  Different characters appeal to different people, it's all a matter of preference.

Don't generalize, people. Even in the Tali Thread there are only a few of the ones you call "hardcore fans". Tali fans are, for the most part, just fans of Biowares work.

And I feel it's pretty obvious there was sex in that scene =/ Even devs confirmed it was possible, and Mordin's speech, Tali's "immunoboosting herself", and her opinion of the meeting after the Suicide Mission makes it pretty clear.

It's also clear that "Sex" in Tali's Romance is clearly not the main focus of it, also, because you're in fact the first person to who she shows her body to. And considering the Quarian culture, that's an incredible act of trust and affection towards you.

But sex is there.

"It was worth it".

*shrugs*  Didn't mean to come across as insulting; I was simply referring to the "hardcore" group.  I never said that was a generalization or a majority.

As for the "Did they have sex or not," really, all of it was implication and truth be told, it doesn't matter that much either way.  I choose to believe it was just a showing of affection rather than sex because that feels more meaningful, but if they had sex, hey whatever floats your boat man.

Anyways, we're de-railing this thread something awful.  Sorry OP!

Okey, true enought -.- Certaintly I didn't choose the right words either.

And that happens to me with Kelly: I refuse to think she ever touches my Shep. I mean... the only thing she does there is stare to the fish tank.

Period.

PD: and sorry OP, but anyway, Tali's my option.

Both...

Just kidding; Kelly is nice enough and she seems fairly intelligent...there's just not much to her.  She's willing to do everything at your beck and call and she'll give you a strip-show simply because "you're the captain!"  Not exactly a character trait I find appealing.

No offense intended, man, I used the term talimancer and hardcore interchangably, but that may not be the case.  The people we are reffering to are the hardcore, sex as the only legitemate outcome people.  I know that not all of the tali thread people are like that because Ive visited the thread on occasion and even posted when there was a pic of a mostly naked tali.  Peoples responses made me recognize that not all of them are into that, just some of them (/you, I suppose you could be one of them, the good them not the bad them...*sharp intake of breath*...complicated).

Which one is the best romance option, do i stay with the now dark almost evil liara or go for  the interesting innocent tali?

Tali's hardly innocent. She wants to wipe out the geth. That's practically genocide. And we all know who else was big on genocide, don't we?

That's right; Darth Vader. What did those poor Ewoks ever do to him?

In short, I haven't done either romance, so I wouldn't know. T'aint as black and white as it seems, though.

Tali. Liara annoyed and frustrated me. I never got why so many people liked her, maybe I don't go for the whole 'sexy librarian' thing that Liara totes around and that 'oh Shepard, you're so wo/manly' that really grated on me.

So... yeah. Tali.

After seeing what Liara has become the choice was obvious, Tali all the way. I'm really looking forward to the confrontation in Mass Effect 3.

For the sake of having her back and supporting her without hesitation... Liara. But I will pitch no argument to the point, because as someone has said, it is up to you (OP) to pick. I'm glad no one has decided to start a war, maybe the maturity level of this forum is indeed turning around.

But yeah, Liara hands down for me.

Shepard can't be tied down by one woman. And Liara went crazy so it is only natural to assume Tali will too!

I don't get the cultist obsession with Tali, but I would pick her over Liara. When I first saw her in ME 2 making "Asari commando" threats I thought there would be an option to mock her. I mean, the change in character was drastic, which can be done right, but it was just so forced and unnatural. She also seemed to lower her voice and put some huskiness into it to try to sound threatening. Even though she was my LI in ME 1 I found her current state... totally lame.

Honestly, all the LIs are a little rough around the edges. If Tali could get over her prejudices she'd be just fine in my opinion. If Liara would stop acting like someone who just came out of a movie theater then she'd be fine too. They need the least work, really.

I definitely prefer Tali; have for a long time as far back as Mass Effect 1. I like Liara quite a bit but I've never been very attached to her. My Shepard just wanted to remain friends.
