Thomas is Howe's son. I dunno where he got Nathaniel from.

I got it from the description of Awakening's game guide.

I've not been following this expansion as closely as I did with Origins, so I assumed he was already known in this community. Also it looks like there's a 6th new character (maybe a secret character like Loghain).

Fingers crossed

Hmm, it looks like Bioware put a romace option in after all. Image IPB

Oh I have nothing against companions having totally different opinions as mine. I disagreed with various viewpoints my compansions had. My two favourites were Morrigan and Alistair, two very different characters (and both I never fully agreed with). Of course, I hated Sten merely for saying I couldn't be a grey warden and a woman, so he sat at camp the entire time. Then again, I didn't like Wynne and her know-it-all patronizing of me, but she was in my party every step of the way (due to wanting a healer).

I like various personalities, but the son of the man who killed my human nobles family? Not sure I'll let him be in my party so I guess he'll be one at camp character the entire game through. I suppose I should be thankful, Sigrun looks really cool so she'll be my token rogue.

Would be cool if there's an option to kill Howe's son... now that'd be fun!

Why would they put the son of Howe in when any who choose the human noble origins has a negative history with the Howe's? I definitely don't like the idea of one of the companions possibly being Arl Howe's son. I mean, I don't even rp, but I still hate Arl Howe now that I've been going through the game as a human noble for my second playthrough. I suppose I'm not suppose to love every companion, I didn't in Origins so I suppose I won't like them all in Awakening. Although so far the revealed companions I have liked initially, so I was hoping I'd like the rest.

I don't think he is, myself, as Thomas is enough younger than the Cousland PC that it was worth mentioning. I do think that it's someone who respected Howe greatly, and believed in him, which should make for a very interesting dynamic between a HN PC and this companion. It's kind of like the PC-Sten dynamic, only the antipathy will be more intense. I suspect it will be one of the most interesting relationships in the game.

Too bad you wrote Sten off so quickly. He's one of the most interesting characters, and developiing his respect is extremely satisfying.

I managed to develop Sten's respect highly enough for him to tell me about Asala...i find him really weird, as he doesn't like polite answers he likes rather mean ones...He stayed in camp a lot!

I do have Sten's respect mostly, despite my dislike of some characters, I usually go into their dialogue at times and try to get them as near 100% approval as possible. I've already done his personal quest. I sorta find him boring though, despite talking to him (I think I've done most of my dialogue with him already). Then again I've heard some people hate Morrigan, and I find her extremely entertaining, and many love Leliana but I find her a real pain.

Real reason Sten didn't leave camp: I like Alistair and I don't need a second warrior in my group (except Shale who's warrior/rogue or something). I found Oghren very amusing, but he stayed at camp too. I get in a rut group style and stick with only the same 3 characters throughout. I should try out the other characters but I like the playstyle of certain group combos best.

I suppose you're right though, the interaction between the human PC and the one that respects Howe will be amusing.

Sten is weird cause he is a pure soldier...he dosen't like to be "kind"..:D

Well if this companion really is related to Howe...i'll either kill him the first oportunity...or try to convert him to my cause(that is for my Cousland char)

He want you to stand up to him and show yourself to be a strong leader. He also respects a desire to learn.

You would kill a man just because his dad was evil? The most likely scenario is that he had no idea what his dad was doing and thought of him as an honorable man (mainly because other people told him so). The comics hint as much, if that is indeed him. I think potentially this could for an interesting character, especially if you played the human noble origin.

I like Sten a lot. He's a very complex character. And it makes him interesting. Though it makes me pretty sad that you don't have any options to save influence with him if you choose certain actions.(Like killing the desire demon who has the templar under her spell in the Circle. Or choosing to save the mages.)

Zevran + Wynne = plenty of lols to be had by themselves. Magical bosom indeed.

I think he'll be the most interesting character in Origins. Which is probably why he gets a comic series, and why they've been oddly silent about him. And why he's going to be the last one announced.

Remember during the whole Landsmeet section, there is information, that Thomas Howe, had no idea what Arl Howe was up to and had no part in the actions and conspiracy.

Someone said on another post that they wanted Jowan in their party in Awakenings. Can you imagine the banter between blood mage hater Anders and Blood Mage Jowan

Me? No.
My Cousland? Hell yes! She hates Howe with such intensity, that it doesn't matter to her if other Howes knew about his doings or not. As long as they support/supported him in any way, they're dead meat.

I love Jowan. He has so much potential for story stuff. And I can't believe they made the mage origin stuff with him so.. Bland. You don't get the feeling of him being your best friend until the Urn of Sacred Ashes. You don't even get to show regret about it or anything. :crying:

In my mind, Talia went to Irving because he was like her father, and she didn't know what to do. Jowan wanting to destroy his phylactery struck her as something so very wrong. And while she understood his reasons for wanting to escape, she didn't see it as a good idea. So she told Irving, and was instructed to go along with it. Despite her guilt and such. She never thought that Greagoir would want to have Jowan killed over it. She was trying to save her friend from being hunted down by templars as an apostate.

I imagine Anders would have a lot of interesting things to say to a mage PC as well. Considering the fact that they most likely met during his many times in the Circle before he escaped again. I'm also convinced he'd make a great romantic option for a female mage PC. But that's just me.

It would be pretty cool if Anders recognised you from the circle before. I want to know what age he is. Sometimes he looks young but others he looks old.

In my mind, my mage PC and Anders have conversations everytime he returns to the circle. Including the first time he shows up there. She doesn't understand why he leaves at that point, since she's been there her entire life. But it would be awesome to have a "HEY! I REMEMBER YOU. You're that guy who kept running away from the Circle only to get caught again."

But then again, in my mind everytime he ended up at the Circle they had a conversation like. "You're back again?"

"Yep. Not for long. Damn templars. Sorry I can't stay to chat. I need to go plot my next escape plan."

If this is the guy from the PA comics, my HN male rogue may have a hard time with his attitude towards the Cousland family murder.
