Ok so I just beat my 3rd playthrough of ME2 on insanity w/ my amazing Infiltrator. I also beat the game on normal with a Vanguard and another Infiltrator, so now I need your guy's help.

Which class should I create next just to have some fun?

I was thinking about a Sentinel, but idk yet.

Also, tell me what bonus power I should grab.

Thanks.

I say Sentinel, then you have tried all the mixed classes. Oh and I paly as a defensive shield nut of an Sentinel. Guardian and with Geth Shield as bonus power. Use the GSBoost on long distance while using the Tech Armor in close combat, works smooth ;) Oh and I play on Harcore.

Sentinel is fun but it has a difficult early game and by the time it becomes a powerhouse the gameplay becomes redundant. I do still like the Sentinel but I had the most fun with Engineer and on Insanity Adept is a good challenge.

I stopped using bonus powers but for Sentinel I, personally, would take an ammo power. Just because you have so many powers as it is, most of which have pretty long cooldowns, that you'd want to save your cooldowns for your damaging/cc powers. It sucks to have used a power and then get your armor ripped off and have to wait to put it back on when you are surrounded. Which happens to me a lot because I play an offensive sentinel.

I have decided to choose between an Engineer or a Sentinel.

Im kinda leaning towards the Engineer from the sticky, but I still dont know what I should choose as a bonus power. Any help?

Engineer specialize in manipulating the battlefield while Sentinels serve as a powerhouse. Both classes are effective at what they do and they are both truly entertaining. I, personally, favor Engineer mainly because the Drone is by far one of the most effective powers when it comes to locking down targets. In addition, you have all the powers needed to remove armor and shields and you have Incinerate to add a huge damage boost.

Sentinels have the powers needed to remove protection as well, but they seem to lack when it comes to dealing substantial dps after their shields have been removed. Thus, having to rely on their squad mates to execute a kill.

I have developed a guide for the Engineer class known as "Thorough guide into Engineering" whereas Darnalak has developed a well-rounded Sentinel guide. I suggest taking a look at both and deciding from there.

I just figured out shield stats are indeed whooping high with first adding the Tech Armor, then adding a 60+ sec Geth Shield Boost, had them both on lvl 2. Without any I think I had around 226, with TA and GBS I had around ca 446 in shields! With only one of either the GSB or TA I had like 346 in shields. Cant wait to max em out. Walking tank deluxe ^^,

Go with sentinel if you prefer hectic middle to close range combat action since sentinels lack cc skills.

Go with ammo skills for bonus power since the sentinels' lack of cc means he's depending on weapons for clean up after stripping enemies' defenses.

They do best with shotgun or assault rifle.

Engineers are better for the long to middle range combat since their abilities are centered on controlling opponents (cyro, drone, AI hack) and with dominate as your bonus skill, you're pretty much the puppeteer of the battlefield..

They also do best with either sniper or assault rifle.

Actually, I play quite aggressively with my Engineer. As long as I am standing by cover to elude certain death, I always play in close range. Though I mostly always bring Mordin with me for a second Cryo Blast or Incinerate incase my powers are on cooldown. I die often playing like this, but it's a lot of fun. Lately I have been getting better and dying less.

Haha, I'll reserve going aggressive like that for you and Gatsby.

While I've used a CQC shotgun adept before, I don't think I can do the same thing with a shotgun engineer - they seem to lack instant close range CC the adept has.

I would go with Sentinel, it's an amazing class. I thought nothing about it but after my second playthrought with it, damn... you will like it.

.

Also, as Bonus Power, I would take Reave. You do have Warp but you need to spend 3 points in Throw to unlock it, and doing that, you won't be able to maximize all usefull skills.

That's just more waiting with the cooldown for each. Even if you choose guardian with the -30% cooldown reduction on all powers, you're still waiting 8.4 seconds each for tech armor and gsb. I dunno if a 60 second shield boost is worth stacking with your tech armor already being so useful. Just be more careful and stay behind cover, only popping out of cover when you have to spam overload and warp :D I would recommend armor piercing ammo as a bonus. It's a passive power and makes your sentinel (or engineer) that much more formidable.

Throw and Cryo Blast are excellent crowd control.

Even Assault Armor is good crowd control when used for that purpose.

They are good crowd control - however they really truly shine when combined with either drone/AI hacking for the engineer or pull/singularity for the adept.

You never really achieve true battlefield control with the sentinel as you do with the adept or engineer.

Guess that's why sentinels are tanks. :)

Precisely, and why Adepts and Engineers are crowd control tacticians
