As the title states. The video chat confirmed that we'd have an ability to unlock Reaver and Blood Mage in Awakening, in case we missed them in Origins. My question is, can I unlock Blood Mage in Awakening and then see it back in Origins?

As the title states.

No you can't. They said that the importing to Awakening is a one way option.

Yes, but that is for your character's save. Unlocking specializations in Origins isn't based on that character, it is for your whole "account" (so to speak). And if the specialization is available in Origins... it might. I'm curious now. I have them all unlocked so it doesn't matter to me, but it still has me curious.

I'm running on an older computer, so Dragon Age runs best on low-medium settings (I don't ever get blood splatter!). I've been avoiding a mage playthrough because of this - when I want to sling massive spells around, I want to get the best graphics for my money, since I can't upgrade for another six months.
Ergo, I haven't been able to unlock Blood Mage for my account - it's the only spec I haven't done - and I want to have some sort of legitimacy in doing so. I also have a friend who plays the game on XBox, so she can't unlock Blood Mage (she's not really into mages). Understandably, this limits our options when choosing to spec out companions - Morrigan would be a wonderful Blood Mage, and if Wynne's going to call her a maleificar, well, why shouldn't the appellation be true?
So if my Warrior or Rogue could unlock BM in Awakening, and I can spec out Morrigan back in Origins, I'm interested. I just hope a dev sees this post and gives us an update.

I doubt it helps, and you've probably already considered it, but the opportunity to unlock Blood Mage is definitely not very far into the game. You could roll up a mage and just basically control alistair or another character and head straight to redcliffe.

You also have the option to import your character from Origins through loading a saved game, and that can be done at any time. You actually don't need to have completed Origins to jump into Awakening, but it is a one way process. Once you make the jump to fast forward that amount of time, you effectively end that Origins campaign and you begin the Awakening campaign with that character. You can always go back to your Origins save and continue that separately, but once you go into Awakening, because of the level up and the time passage, there is no coming back to Origins at that point.
