*Tested on Logitech wireless rumblepad 2
*32bit/64 bit Windows 7, Vista, XP
*This is a workaround and not a fix
-Make sure you download the latest drivers from logitech for your gamepad
-Install the drivers (with administrative rights and you may have to restart your PC)
-Calibrate and customize your profile. You can find the key bindings (controls) in ME2 or the web
-Install ME2
-Start ME2 Launcher and customize your settings (ie Video, Import game saves..etc)
-Once you have customized your your game, launch ME2
-Write down or get a screenshot of the control configurations and you can use this to program your gamepad
-Once you have programmed your gamepad profile, quite/exit ME2
**ITS IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CUSTOMIZE YOUR GAME AS THE WORKAROUND WILL BYPASS THE LAUNCHER!!**
-On your Desktop, goto "START"
-Select "COMPUTER"
-Navigate to this path C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries"
**FOR 32bit users: C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries
-Look for the mass effect 2 executable (MassEffect2.exe)
-Open the "Logitech" profiler and on the menu select "EDIT" then "PROPERTIES"
-Click on the BROWSE button and browse to the mass effect 2 executable and select "OPEN"
-Then, Give your Profile a name and select the ME2 icon on the bottom and select "OK"
-Back on the logitech profiler, select "PLAY MASS EFFECT" or whatever you named your game profile
*THATS IT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROGRAMMED YOUR GAMEPAD WITH THE KEY BINDINGS IN THE GAME
-Once you launch the game, it will skip the launcher screen and go to the intro
-On the main menu of the game, test your gamepad by moving the joysticks around.
**THIS HAS BEEN TESTED TO WORK ON WIN7, VISTA, XP WITH THE LOGITECH WIRELESS RUMBLEPAD 2
**IT SHOULD WORK ON THE USB WIRED VERSION AS WELL, IF NOT UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS.

Is a game pad the same thing as a graphic tablet?
Because I have one, and I use it to scan planets because it goes way faster :-m
(go me!)

Hi there, sorry for the late reply..
if you have a gamepad, program the right stick to be your first person camera. then you can program your left stick to be your directional movements. The software i used came with my gamepad or you can just download it from their website. fyi...im using the logitech wireless rumblepad 2. Hope that helps

Xpadder (which ever version) with output any key press or mouse move / button based on controller inputs. You want to get a copy of the Mass Effect default keyboard settings, either as a screen shot from in game, or from online. Then load up Xpadder, and configure it to see your controller, and recognize all the buttons. Now, you can click on any button (or stick) and a picture of your keyboard/mouse will come up, letting you map that button to a keyboard press. If you purchase Xpadder 5.6, you can do long presses to get alternate options. It's a nice program let lets you fully customize your controls.
If I find my old profiles, I'll reply again with it.
Have a good one
