Love interest? That lady sent me in a very unstable core to do a suicide mission! My only love interest is DOG! Also, would be lovely to know what the hell happened to Barney.

They'll do it.
With Portal 2 on the way, I suspect Valve are going to be releasing Ep 3 in Holiday 2011 at the latest. Portal 2 offers a brilliant opportunity for them to add in some Ep 3 teasers (either by hidden files, easter eggs or by the fact Aperture Science and Black Mesa have some form of link) and I really would be surprised if it was 4 years between Ep 2 and 3.

You know, I totally forgot about Episode 3. It would be nice if they finally released it, but I wouldn't be pissed if they didn't. The game gets kind of meh after a while.
Half-Life in 60 Seconds sums up the games basically, minus Episode 2

I'll be happy to see the whole Half-Life bit just fade away like it never existed. Played (or started to) the original and quit without finishing out of sheer boredom.
Don't give a hoot about the Left 4 Dead series either since I have no interest in on line multi player games. I play all my game in single player mode.
Portal on the other hand has a lot of potential. I'm definitely looking forward to Portal 2!

Half Life 1 and Half Life 2 are really different games, it's really strange.
I much prefer 2 to 1.

Half-Life 1 had no story or plot other than a line or two to set the stage for the rest of the game.
Then it became a hit so to milk it for all it was worth, they tried (unsuccessfully IMHO) to wrap some kind of story around it.
They should have just left Half-Life alone and moved on but now they are stuck with either finishing a series most people have forgotten and probably loosing money in the deal or abandoning it in favor of more lucrative pursuits and pissing off die-hard Half-Life fans.
What's with this forum and line breaks, they always come out as two blank lines that need editing down to one.
Typical B movie tired old plot drivel.Experiment goes wrong and destroys an underground test facility and also opens a portal that allows aliens to invade Earth.

It would be cool if a Combine comes up and steels Freeman's classes or breaks them. Provideing a new "blurry" visual ellemaent to the game.
