Because one of the things that annoyed me most about the first game was that the only reason Sovereign would give for attacking the galaxy was "Oh, we're too advanced for you to understand," which annoyed the hell out of me. When I found out there was actually a somewhat cool reason for it all I was very happy.



And also because Terminator 2 is one of my favorite movies.

I wondered what would happen if i failed.... What if Shepherd couldn't pull this one off?! would the terminus systems succumb to a giant malformed robot flatulate-ing its way across the galaxy.

Would I have to board it in ME3 like the derelict reaper recovered the IIF from? would I want to? which orifice?

I hope they build it pants.

Am I one of the small group of people that didn't think it was that bad? I mean, they could have had a better idea for the story/final boss but I didn't mind it that much. The "Using humans to make a new reaper" was a bit weird though.



Can someone tell me what I'm missing other than "It wasn't the concept art"?

i was surprised to say the least. i think it would have been worse if the bugger was flying around like a normal reaper, now that would look retarded. wasn't the worst thing ever, only real boss in the game, since all the strong characters were normal sized and layered with barriers and shields.

There were a few bosses.  Ymir Mechs and assault ships were psuedo bosses and the Geth Colossus was a boss.

I can understand why they changed it. A killer fetus wouldn't exactly be very interesting to fight. It'd mainly just hover there and maybe shoot you with eyebeams, instead of the Terminator that's grabbing at you, pulling down the hoverplatforms, and shooting eyebeams at you.

I dunno, I've fought giant fetuses in RPG's before, and it was scary.  

Though you're right, that boss fight needed something else.  I hope ME3 has a good one to end the series with a bang.

Boss fights in general are a fairly antiquated and outdated game mechanic, imo. I never expect anything impressive from them. The human-reaper larva was no better or worse than anything else I've seen
