I ask this because i am considering doing the return to ostagar quest, however if it will be better with Loghain then i will wait until i get him, but i dont know when that will be...?

He's referred to as "secret companion" to non-spoil, and there aren't supposed to be spoilers in titles on any of the forums.  I don't care myself, but some people get miffed and righteous about such stuff.

If u have played return to ostagar, do u think i should take him, or just go?

It's worth doing once with Alistair and once with Loghain (you'll have to do this in separate playthroughs). Loghain is a little more interesting to take than Alistair. You should also take Wynne (no one else has much to say).

It can be done after Landsmeet, no problem, so don't worry about that.

I just played through it with Alistair today and I must admit that I agree far more with Loghain's response to the thing people respond to than with Alistair's. Especially since my character who went there with Loghain was engaged to someone in particular.
