Can somebody tell me why im not slaying genlocks with one swing of my sword? At Osagar sure, The Warden is not very expeirienced, but when im in the Deep Roads on my final Treaty level, shouldn't I be slaying them? Emmissary's sure they can be tough to kill, but Genlocks? I think there should be swarms of Genlocks who are all easy to kill. When I mean swarm, I mean 20-30 of them per encounter. In the cut-scene at Ostagar, Cailyn was taking them out like it was nobody's buisness, and Duncan killed an Ogre with a couple stabs with a dagger, and it takes my level 16 character 3 swings with a sword and an ability to take out a Genlock? My character has 45 strength!

the max for a stat is (apparently) 100, so, no offense, but 45 is not impressive. and this could be a case of NPC's being more BA than the PC can be, at least usually / for a majority of the game. then there's the balance / challenge factor of the game, as opposed to say the Elder Scrolls...

Story and roleplaying aspects don't always correlate with in-game progression systems. It doesn't matter if your character has 45 strength. This has no meaning in the roleplaying sense, and as such cannot be compared to Duncan face-rolling an Ogre.

You can have all the fun you like in the Final Battle with the Grunts.

Genlocks =/= weaker or stronger than other darkspawn. That, and wouldn't the more powerful darkspawn still be located down in the Deep Roads, rather than roaming on the surface? The Archdemon can't have all his awesome troops being independent before it decides to kill off Ferelden.

Grand Master Silverite Rune adds 10+ damage to darkspawn. 2 of these are available in the game with Faryn & the Dwarf merchant in Denerim (Gorim I think), Couple those with weapons that does additional damage to darkspawn, & you'll get there.

If DAO takes anything from LOTR, it's that orcs er Darkspawn are weaker on the surface, in the sunlight/starlight.
