Holy crap...this guy is tough. I have tried doing the battle where you are ambushed in the courtyard many many times and just can't get past it. Many times I've had it down to just that big guy left, then he just trashes the crap out of me. I'm barely even moving his health bar. Anyone got any tips?

Right after posting this I tried it again...and finally realized I could open the gate.

Then it was easy with help from the Knights.

I feel stupid.

I had tons of trouble with this Mini-Boss as well. His Pull Spell was the absolute worst until i figured out that all i had to do was to open the gate let the Knights and Sir Perth in the Courtyard to help me out and Voila! I beat him. He did not drop a thing though and I wonder if that had anything to do with the help from the Knights and Sir Perth?

Party: Alistair, Morrigan, Lelianna and my fighter. Party experience level either 9 or 10. Difficulty Level = Normal (sort of)

I have to wonder if I'm cursed.

The Redcliffe night battle was a b****. I finally figured out the "lead village zombie mobs to the knights by the mill" trick. The problem I had was that I think the zombie mobs killed too many knights. After the night battle and clearing the lower castle, when I finally got to the courtyard and opened the gate for the Revenant battle, only poor Ser Perth came trotting through all by his lonesome. On NORMAL difficulty, the Revenant and its crew of undead made fairly short work of him, then my bunch. I finally said heck with it and replayed on EASY, it was the only way past without replaying a bunch of saves.

very easy to me. Revie in the mages tower was MUCH more difficult. The mages tower one had some serious damage resistance, and I had to lower it to easy to avoid using all my pots.

As for Redcliff, I was able to lure the skeletons down without aggroing revie. You can't get too close to the steps, however. So pelt the archers with ranged weapons. Next take out rev's guards, they go down pretty fast. Next just pound on rev and keep up with the heals.

I think he may actually be easier if you do this early (my first stop after base camp first time). I think at a higher level, they pick up some serious physical immunity.

P.S. I did not open the gate, didn't even realize you could until afterwords. But those guys come in handy on those suits of armor inside. Those suits are extremely tough compared to revie. The dogs inside the castle are tough too. But the boss fight (I did the quick easy solution) was fairly easy.

in response to Geez's post, I didn't think Perth could die lol. That guy was a powerhouse, and really bailed me out on the suits of armor.

It shows how different this game is when you go in at 6 or 7 instead of 9 or 10. The game has weird scaling issues. Redcliff was a **** for me, but I'm starting to feel glad I did it early. The mages tower which I"m doing second (still on it) has been fairly easy except for that revenant.
