Hey there!
Now I know the destruction of Normandy SR1 at the beginning of the game is emotional enough on its own for some people, but, having watched the scene on YouTube with 'Nearer my God to Thee' in the background, I started getting all misty-eyed and thought of other equally powerful pieces that could add to the scene. The best fit for me - if you work the timing - is the theme for Band of Brothers, which gave me goosebumps as I played it in the background while watching poor ol' Normandy go down again. If you can manage it, I'd suggest you try it and challenge you not to get sentimental about that hunk o' junk.
If anyone can think of any other pieces of music that fit, then post away!

Hah! It seems that I've inadvertently plugged your video. Ah well, it's definitely worth seeing anyway, so thanks for giving me the idea!
