Also, Dwarves have awesome beards. Who DOESN'T like them?

And elven chins are as smooth as a babies bottom.

I think my Dwarf is kinda ok looking at least.:)

Thedas was not ready for a dwarven mage.

This. JEB secretly wants to wear the robes of the magi, but they won't let him in the tower.

Wish they'd made an alternate to the human commoner instead of just cutting it, but I'm actually fine with it as it is. It seems that all humans pretty much are of some varying wealth in this universe. At least, they are compared to city elves, dalish elves and dwarven commoners. Magi don't really apply since they probably don't have much of anything to call their own but get all they need from the Circle if they aren't apostate.

I think somebody should make a mod to turn the Dalish Elves into the elves from The Hobbit. I've never seen or heard of anyone running with that. La la la la la la la la la…

Hehe.

Well, to be fair, Dwarves and Elves both get two unique origins. Mage is shared, and isn't really an "Elf' origin at all. Humans only get one, but they can play as Mage as well.

I think the point is that the Dwarves are different - you should be happy that they get two unique Origins...

Not that anyone really likes Dwarves...right? RIGHT? D:

Because dwarves are so awesome that if you gave them any more origins they would overwhelm everyone else with their awesomeness?

Elves need three because they are the least awesome.

I like to believe that this is the truth :D

But...., but..., that's not true. Elven males are hawt. So sayeth this human rogue/ranger (see avatar, she be my first PC).

Because Dwarves can't be Mages and Humans had two origins cut for not fitting.

Because Bioware hates you.
Mage isn't a race exclusive origin. A better question might be "Why do humans only get one origin?"
The answer would be that one got cut, if I remember right.

This.

Couldn't they add a human commoner origin as DLC in a year or two?
*ducks tomatoes being thrown at her*

Okay, okay, it was just a thought!

I like elves, but I'm playing as a human mage for my first playthrough. I'm not a big fan of dwarves in general.

They've stated that they won't add origins as DLC.  Which seems like a respectable decision.

Really? Actually, that sounds like a good decision, that way no one can complain that they aren't able to buy the "full" game because Bioware cut the extra origin in the first place.

Elves should also have 3 gender options. Male, Female, and that other option.

Why thank you my dear...too bad that if one of us mates with one you we get a stupid round-ear baby. You wouldn't want us to die out now, would you?

Babies? I don't want no babies, I want some.... ah.... well, hot elf action, not babies.

Besides, no gene is ever adaptive (yeah, bringing real live biology into a fantasy game is a no no, but a girl can imagine things, right?), just recessive. Wouldn't that be something if suddenly there were a bunch of half-elves showing up.

...Hmmm... that might be a good idea for a module... Imagine the possiblilties.

I bet it would scare the ****** out of all the highplaced human nobles who suddenly find their elven mistress left them an embarrising little present, imagine what the wife might say?

Then my PC swoops in and nicks everything that isn't nailed down
