I was initially put out by her work in the intro, but Miranda grew on me.

"Omega...what a pisshole." - I think you need an aussie for that.

I really thought her VA was fine. Something about her character's facial appearance bothered me a bit, can't put my finger on it but something was off.

Agree that Martin Sheen sounded a bit flat, but not awful.

I thought all the voice action was amazing but the male shep character. I tried really hard to play as a male the second playthrough but the voice turned me off in 10 minutes.

...How? I mean, it's the same voice actress, but Samus only grunts and gasps, really.

Sometimes I wonder how that went, behind the scenes.

"Now Ms Hale, I want you to gasp as if you were just smacked in the face by a gigantic mutant crab thing."

"Good good, now grunt as if bludgeoned by a cyborg alien pterodactyl."

I'm just glad she sounded nothing like Naomi Hunter.

Also, (and I know I'm gonna catch flak for this) but the arse on her character model is bordering on ridiculous. I like me a nice bit of sweet, sweet candy as much as the next man, but the arse on Miranda is kinda ridiculous. Genetically perfect or no, it's just too big. So big in fact, that several small sateliites have become trapped in it's gravity well.

You liked the story that she was a spoiled rich girl who got sick of her dad and ran away to join a terrorist organization?

I thought Yvonne did a pretty damn good job personally. I just wish I'd gotten a little more romance from her romance subplot. To me it felt more like a fling, not a romance; but that's an issue with the writing not the voice actress.

Spoiled rich girl?  She was nothing more than a science experiment to her father.   You do recall she said that she wasn't her father's first child only the first one that he kept?

I agree with you about Cerberus and I do wish I'd had more opportunities to confront her over how abhorent Cerberus is; but she definitely scored some big points with me when I blew up the Collector base and she told the Illusive Man to **** off.

I thought the same thing.  I thought the VA was spot on for her character, but watching the animation bothered me at times.

I thought she was great as MIranda. She emoted great on the emotional parts, sounded ready to blow people away on the action parts, was a jerk when she needed to be.

I think you just don't like her voice, because by any objective measure she brought it acting wise.

I don't like that story...but since that was nowhere in the game and you just made it up it didn't bother me much playing the game.

I know reading is hard dude but the VOs read the lines for you.

I agree about the facial animations.  To me I think it was the eyes, they just weren't expressive enough.  They were pretty; but they didn't convey her emotions as well as they could have.  Liara's eyes for example were remarkably expressive in ME1 even though the graphics weren't nearly as refined as in ME2.   A bit more emphasis with her eyebrows would have done alot to make her more expressive in my opinion.

I disagree about Sheen though.  His character was perpetually calm and collected bordering on aloof, that's not the same as flat.

yvonne strahovski did a great job with miranda in fact i dont think there's one bad character that had bad voice acting, not to mention she's soooo hot looks just like miranda but with blonde hair instead look it up.

I thought her voice acting was okay, not big on the facial expression, she always seems to have a smirk goin on, and turthfully I'm not a huge fan of the accent, I think losing the accent would have been better, but all in all it was okay.

By far the worst va to me was Jennifer Hale and femshep, which is a downer cause she does voices for so many games I really expected hers to be better, but man the voice in this game just irritates me, so much so that I got to after horizon on m renegade femshep adept and deleted. I just couldn't take it anymore. I was really surprised at how much I didn't like it. I usually like her work.

It seems people are more upset about the character then the voice acting. Miranda isn't an emotive character, so I think the voice acting was spot on. Or perhaps you're just not a fan of the Aussie accent. I'm an Australian and I'm not too fond of our accent but when I hear it in a movie/game/whatever contrasted against other accents I love it!

So Miranda...I like the story behind the character, and her combat abilities are decent (squad damage is ftw). But, I find Yvonne Strahovski's voice acting for the character to be TERRIBLE.  She delivers her lines in an almost monotone, with barely any emotion. It's all just...flat.
Which really sucks, as I wanted to like Miranda. I watch Chuck regularly, and she seems to do that role just fine, so I was kinda excited when they announced she would be voicing a ME2 character. Maybe she's just not as good at acting when she's just reading straight from a script and not on a set? Or maybe it's that she is better at acting when not using her native Aussie accent? I dunno, but whatever the reason, I wince often at her delivery :( I guess being in the very first scene alongside Mr. Sheen didn't help. His quality voice acting just made her flat delivery stick out even more. Hell, just about the whole cast is amazing, 'cept for her. Makes me hope that she gets a very minor role (if any) for ME3.
Your opinions? Who likes her voice acting? Is she anyones favourite character?

Ok, maybe its cause you arent an aussie?
I am Australian and i pick up on her tone changes and emotional reflections in her voice...i think this might just be a case of you being unable to fully grasp the accent...if so, dont feel bad...youd be suprised how many people do it, or think we arent australian because we dont have the steriotyped Aussie voices.

Oh I have no problem with the Aussie accent, it's one of the few accents I actually like. I also think the va was good for Miranda, just wasn't "awesome", it could be that I'm focusing too much on the actual character rather than listening to the words. I'll have to close my eyes when she talks or something I guess.
