But, whatever. The game came out fantastic regardless, and I can just enable him earlier in my game anyways.

And give it a rest with the Liara dlc...there is NO evidence....its a hopeful rumour at best. Bioware will not do a DLC for just 'one' character.....can you imagine the **** storm that would appear here if they did?

As I recall they are both DLC for just 'one' character and no one seems to care. Regardless, I don't care much about the whole Liara debacle. I rather disliked her in ME1 and it's a pattern that seems to continue into ME2.

Anything that would have replaced Legion's "no data" response for why he's still wearing the armor with some silly practical reason is actually a negative, not a positive.
Quoted for truth.
Exactly. That was Legion's most interesting line, and one of the most memorable lines in the entire game IMO.

During the entirety of the ME2 development we've been teased with the mysterious Geth and the N7 armor that it has incorporated into it's platform.
Reference:
And not even that, fairly recent trailers on ME2 suggested that Legion is obsessed with Shepard and finding out what drives this Geth to "hunt Shepard" is a major part of the plot.
Reference: (near the end of the clip)
However, when you actually get ME2 and experience the game, all this appears to be false.
That lends credence to this posted message, which was hastily cleansed from the net a few minutes after it was posted, but not before it went viral on all sorts of messageboards.
Personally I'd say having a clean cut from introduction to tutorial without switching point of view between Shepard and other characters is very well done - nice, clean, mysterious and shock inducing.
I liked the surprised POV switch with Joker though and while that was a break in the "third person narrative" of "your Commander Shepard" that Bioware seems to love so much for their Mass Effect series, it did bring a nice survival-horror vibe to the genre.
Also, owning ME1, I don't mind lacking an ability to completely initialize canon for a default Shepard in part 2.
It adds more weight to the first installment of Mass Effect this way.
Retconned, while an awful term and technically incorrect even if all of the above is true, is sadly exactly what I mean - a mystery surrounding Shepard's massive Lazarus implants feels like a giant McGuffin to me that serves as a way to drive the finale of Mass Effect 3.
Having some of this foreshadowed in Mass Effect 2 by figuring out Legion's motivations and background would've brought an almost "Planescape: Torment"-esque voyage of personal discovery to the genre.
It's a shame they didn't go that route. Right now the Lazarus Project feels hollow. And Legion feels hollow as well -no pun intended- a stark difference from what is suggested in the trailers.
Maybe they'll tackle all this in ME3.
As for the comics? -I'm sorry but unless you're a rabid fan of either Liara or the Mass Effect canon I don't see how anyone can find it interesting or even fill in plot gaps.
The first three installments of the Redemption comic add nothing worthwhile and what is covered in them can be easily siphoned from wikis - you won't miss anything.
Not to mention the price for these meager crumbs of plot.

Joker's scene was short and I view it as an interactive "first-person" cutscene of sorts, just to add tension to the moment by making the player a participant rather than a spectator. And I still hope it's just the weird exception, because I got used to playing only as Shepard through two entire games.
I would have liked to get Legion earlier, though. He fits excellently into the IFF mission, but it's so late into the game...

There are already Liara- DLC related files within game catalogues and there were indicatons from devs side that here will be very possible Liara -DLC after introduction of last Redemption comics.
Beside DLC content is NOT MUST BE for playersand you are not obligatet in any way to download and install Liara DLC IF YOU HATE her sooo much.
Actually I really hope that Bioware START TO FIX Mass Effect 2 via DLCs to give Mass Effect 1 players chance to have game which they expected from the very beginning.

I don't see how that's relevant. They're both DLC for one character, and it shouldn't really matter regardless if they're new or not. They should both undergo similar amounts of recording, modelling, programming and quipping where appropriate. The only caveat I'd see there would be making a satisfying romance branch that started in ME1.Maviarab wrote...

If you don't want her in YOUR game simply don't download that certain DLC .
Right now her side quest looks really illogical and too incomplete.
And about Legion's availability in early game stages i think Bioware used similar train of toughts as in case of Tali romance in ME 1 (they cut that because they think that people will not like this option) but who known maybe Bioware would record couple extra lines of dialogs for Legion DLC making him available to pick up before Horizon mission.

Still, it's a great story.
It probably got cut to please 360 owners so they would not have to swap disks so much.
