Can SOMEONE please tell me how to taint the Sacred Ashes? There is no option to for me!DocSun wrote...
Wynne will actually attack you if she finds out you are a blood mage (at least acording to the players guide) and being a complete jerk and getting the reaver special requires you to taint the sacred ashes which both wynne and lilianna disaprove of and they will both leave you (or attack you first if they are in your party during the sacred ashes quest

You have to be willing to talk to the reaver leader. If you didnt talk to him and just killed him then you can not taint the ashes. You talk to him and he gives you a vial of blood to dump on there then you can choose what to do when you get to the ashes

thats VERY disapointing =( so people will treat a good goody templar the same as a horrible blood mage or reaver.. fantastic, how dymanic!

so i'd rather they react to my ACTIONS and appreciations instead of reacting to my class, so all this is actually good news for me

pretty sure if you're a blood mage, Wynne wont join you...not 100% tho
Wrong. She doesn't give a damn. My Mage's a Blood Mage and they're good friends.
Specializations itself have absolutely no impact, the way you gain them sometimes have though (Such as unlocking Reaver)

Also, very few people can tell tell what sort of magic a blood mage does as the minority of people in the world haven't even seen a mage in action.
However, I think that party members like Wynn should have huge problems with stuff like being/becoming a reaver/blood mage.

Hell, you can MAKE WYNN a Blood Mage!

Ideally they would react only when you use blood magic in their presence, or in the presence of someone in that town/city/region, but that would probably be much harder to code.
Of course, if they did psychically know your class I'm sure some people, possibly even the same people, would be complaining about that. Still, I do wish they had either not allowed you to become a blood mage, or put in reasonable reactions if you use blood magic.

Overall I would say that if the writers/developers are not willing to put in the appropriate reactions/responses to being a character that is, story-wise, reviled or otherwise outcast in an RPG, they should simply never give the player the opportunity to become that class. If they don't have the time/resources to include appropriate in-character reactions to me being a Blood Mage, then they shouldn't include it as a possibility in the first place.

Perhaps the sad old cow will find a way to keep herself alive with the newfound forbidden knowledge, after all.

I'm sure someone already suggested on these forums that to make an NPC specialise it should be through dialogue, and not just sticking a point in a specialisation, it would make a whole lot more sense.
All in all I was pretty disappointed with the Blood Mage, after seeing what Jowan did I pretty much fell in love with the specialisation, thinking I'd be slashing myself up to fuel my magic in no time. Ahh well.

the guide lies. And guess what, you can also give Wynne the Blood Mage spec, which is wonderfully ironic.DocSun wrote...
