Hehehehe...my companions are ALWAYS speaking (and preaching me) about my character's relationship with morrigan, and overlooks the "little detail" that he is a reaver ( a champion-reaver, to be more precise).
are blood mages and reavers actually hated by npcs?

Is there any way to become Reaver and save Wayne?

No, there is no way to save Wayne. WYNNE, on the other hand, it is possible to save, so I've read.

There is a way to become a Reaver and save Wayne!.
(I tried something after posting my last Reply and it worked!)
(note: You have to save before Defiling the Ashes)
I became a Reaver by defiling the Ashes and go to Kolgrim to get your Reward (Reaver Spec).
Now load earlier save of the Mountein Top before defiling the Ashes and this time DON"T defile it just take the amount needed and leave. In this case you become a Reaver and save Wayne with you int he party,

I think you'll have to ask Garth about that.
Party on ... excellent ...

As long as you tell them you're a Grey Warden first, they shouldn't have a problem. Grey Wardens are known throughout Thedas to do whatever is necessary to defeat the Blight.

I was told that with regards to Blood mage specialization, what Wynne doesn't know won't hurt her. Just don't bring it up.

General A6 I hope you still have your game saved. I thought I got away with it too. I left Wynne at camp and defiled the ashes to gain the Reaver specialization. I went about my way fighting through a couple of random encounters, then went to camp. It went to a cutscreen of Wynne chewing me out and leaving the party, saying something along the lines of "you think I didn't hear what you did?!" . I luckily had it saved, I wasn't about to lose the best healer in the game.

I think that if you are a bloodmage when you first meet Wynne, she will ask you about it, that's it. I'm not sure about it though, never tried it.
As far as I know, no NPC cares what specializations you have.

If you do it Wayne leaves you ! , but if you load previous saved games before becoming a Reaver and this time you don't defile the Ashes so wayne will stay and you will have the Reaver unlocked, because it unlocks a spec for the account not for the specific character .
Have fun

Conceivably, you're using your BM powers to control her mind! That's why she doesn't care, if she didn't catch you in the act during the learning.

In case of a Reaver she does ! and that's the point.
