I have been experiencing a very serious bug with the game's targeting system. I can see the orange squares that appear around targetable objects, but the squares will only turn blue and actually be selectable maybe 10% of the time. This does not happen initially, but after an hour or so of playing this bug starts to manifest and once led to my being trapped in the briefing room, unable to open the door for over ten minutes. Furthermore, when in combat, the autotargeting system will rarely "find" enemies, requiring me to manually aim. This is less serious, but still irritating. Even stranger, none of these bugs occurred at first, but suddenly manifested around the Collector Ship mission and have persisted since then accross multiple playthroughs. Anyone else have this happen?

Video card would be rather important, especially for this particular problem.
As would your processor. However, even without your specs, I can tell you it's generally caused by low frame rates. You could try turning down graphical resolution and/or details to improve framerate.
Since you say it happens after playing a while, perhaps something more systemic is happening that affects ME, like your video card overheating. Is this a laptop?
