Too many to list. George Carlin was one of my favorites too. R.I.P.

For now I'll go with something brief.

Dave Allen...

Was going to post some Spike milligan/eric Sykes or Peter Sellers...real comediens.....but most of the world just don't get real comedy...

Anyway...this for all the Americans out there :P

Another...how to tell the time....pure genius...

And for those who don't know, Dave Allen was an anti-catholic irishman who didnt believe in God...he's funny already :)

And for absolute greatness...Tommy Cooper....the man was funny even when he didnt speak. Died on stage to raptous laughter...best way to go.

Don't have one, but:

Alistair MacGowan is very funny. He was great on ElvenQuest.

George Carlin is awesome, but the OP already posted those

There's Jeff Dunham:

(I'm pretty sure most of you have already seen these)

Is Jeff really considered a comedien in the true sense of the word? But agreed, very funny indeed :)

I guess Jeff is more aptly called a ventriloquist, but his act is pretty funny. At least in small doses. I was really unimpressed with his show.

None of these are Safe for work (Which means they're good)

Billy Connolly's most epic joke ever

Shappi Khorsandi at the Hammersmith Apollo

Ed Byrne on Back to the Future

Dara O'Briain on Nutritionists

Bill Bailey on Prog Rock

British comedy is pretty much insitutionalised over here.

No Stephen K. Amos, Dave? I'm disappointed.

I was in a rush. Besides, a lot of people didn't get in that post. Namely Sean Lock, Reginald D Hunter and the Wonderful Paul Merton.

I do not have any particularly favourite funnymen, but I want to say I absolutely hated George Carlin. Like, not as a person, but just his act.

Then click some of my links. These are all new, current acts (apart from Billy Connolly, but he's hilarious anyway), who are frequent on BBC. And they are side splitting.

Paul Merton? Funny?
Reginald D Hunter is funnier the more you listen to him. I wasn't impressed at first, but now I've seen him on QI a few times and It's Only A Theory, I'm starting to "appreciate" his humour more.
Jeremy Hardy is funny!

Merton is better on Just a Minute, where his whimsical bumblings make more sense are actualy more contributory to the show.
