I'm concerned about what will transfer over into ME3. I just finished the ME2 game for the first time and I did it exactly how I wanted it. But I would like to play through again and this time make really stupid decisions. However, I'm nervous about doing this because I don't know how ME3 will interprut my save transfer.

Will it go off my first play through decision, or my most recent? I am assuming it will be my most recent. And that sucks! I want to continue on my same file so I can increase my level and maximize my benefits, but I want to explore the game in a different way without sacrificing my perfect original game outcome.

Does this mean, if I do play a second time through, and mess up my storyline, I will have to play through a 3rd time, the exact way I did the first time, just to rectify the damage done?

This sounds complex, and inconvenient, I must be missing something, please tell me that I am.

You can probably pick which playthrough you want to import, like in the beginning of this one.

What I am worried about is which decisions are used on a career. I saved right before the Suicide Mission and I played through it twice to get both endings. I destroyed the base the first time but the second time I kept it. I hope it saves as two different saves.

You can backup your saves now and use them when ME3 is released. Just copy ...\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\Save folder someplace safe and play the game however you want.

I'm not 100% sure since ME3 is not released yet but it worked for me with ME1->ME2 save import.

Ya, backing up my saves is nice, but I need a second play through to get to level 60. By the time I'm 60, all my original decisions will be overwritten on the new playthrough.

I want to transfer over to ME3 with a 60 char

I'm glad to hear you could pick which playthrough to load, I only really played ME1 once, so I didn't notice the option when I loaded to ME2

I don't think you can get to level 60 with ME2 char. Just now I'm playing it second time trough and char level stays at 30. So in second play trough you start with level 30 if you import your char from previous play trough and it stays on level 30 trough whole game. But you will be getting paragon/renegade points on second play trough.

Oh, well lv30 is fine too, whatever it takes to max. Still, repeating myself, as long as my first play through is the prominent one for ME3

Ive done a mistake in my save game.

*SPOILER*

I told the quarians to go to war with the geth. Is there any way i can change this? No gibbed's editor doesn't allow plot changes.

Thanks

Reload an earlier save, and go through the mission again is the only way.

@Persason

You have plenty of time before holyday 2011. You can even play another career, or more than one, from the beginning. I already have many Shepards to import into ME3.
