A Justice Spirit would be pretty cool, but would he carry an executioner's axe and become more powerful in proportion to the injustice he's fighting?

Hmmm, I could see a werewolf being called "justice".

That owuld be awesome.
I wonder if we can make him do the ritual. Grey Werewolf warden FTW!

Why does everyone hate him because he's a Howe? He probably had nothing to do with the death of the Cousland's.

Have you read the Penny Arcade webcomics?
Although personally, I think it'd be more fun to bring him into the party and spend the rest of the game antagonizing him.

Ohh I see now why everyone hates him. Well as much as I dislike him now, I will still give him a chance.

According to the Penny Arcade comic, Nathaniel Howe seems to have just been simply not around when Origins was going on, so he may be unaware of the other side of the story. It's not uncommon for someone to side with their family if they only know scant details.

And I hope Justice is some delusional guy who thinks he's a hero. "From that day forth, I no longer was Dave... but... Justice." Minsc-ing it up wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Have you read the comics?  He has no idea what happened and assumes his father had an honorable reason.

Not a secret companion, they just haven't released the info.

Looks like he is, like Wynne, someone possessed by a Fade spirit, except in his case it's a bit more complete. He will probably be very interesting: Anyone remember Vhailor from Planescape:Torment?

I love the idea of Justice being a Fade spirit in a human body - not to mention it's the only sensible explanation for the name that I can think of.

How my human noble reacts to Nathaniel Howe depends largely on how he responds when he finds out exactly what Arl Howe did to her family. (Not to mention a whole lot of other people, especially given his involvement with those Tevinter slavers.) She has no desire to kill her enemy's family just because they happen to be related to him, but she's not likely to work with Nathaniel if he continues to think that the man who had almost everyone she knew slaughtered is a hero.

+1 to Bioware if Justice really is a Fade Spirit in possession of some poor sap's body. On the other hand, if he's too cool of a character, I might be playing with a party of three Warriors again...

Justice is a silly name. Just for that, I'll name my Orlesian Warden Injustice. They'll be friendly rivals who constantly contradict each other.

My vote for the final mystery character would be a "good" demon, who does not want to be like his/her evil kin. It will probabl be something more practical, though...

Also, will we have a pet during Awakening? I'd like my dog back, or possibly a pet dragonling.

Demons are evil fade spirits. So a good "demon" would basically be... a fade spirit.

Not quite. Demons represent rage, hunger, sloth, desire, and pride. Fade spirits represent things like justice and compassion (I don't have a list to reference for Fade spirits). As such, we could have a Desire Demon who desires to help people, or a Pride Demon who's pride won't allow him to see innocents suffer. Their motivations would still be linked to their own personality, but they will have noble goals, and thus, we would have no reason to kill them (except for the fact that they are still demons).

For the Utha issue, the Arcitect has the power to rapidly increase the effects of the Taint in others and as a result of the very rapid acceleration you end up being a Darkspawn with your full intelligence and free will unlike the normal hivemind darkspawn. It will probably be Arcitect, Utha, Disciples (Their converts) in that order of chain of command.

That isn't entirely accurate.  In the calling, the other two grey wardens who underwent the change realized they were losing their humanity and being consumed by the hate of the darkspawn.

Yout don't retain full intelligence and free will.

What? I thought the taint turned people into ghouls and broodmothers, not darkspawn... or is it that ghouls simply don't survive long enough to become actual darkspawn, usually?

You do become a ghoul, not a darkspawn. And you have to survive long enough to even become one.

the pictures of justice look a lot like the man in reveal trailer   at 38 seconds in only he looks kinda well dead which supports the possession theory

No, she's a ghoul as a result of the Arcitect speeding up the Taint. Nowhere does it mention that a ghoul forgets what they are or their intellegence... they're just twisted by sorrow, regret anger and despair (which is why the GW instituted the Calling in the first place).
Minor spoiler fpor Dalish origin:

In fact if you play the Dalish Origin, you come across a ghoul from said openning later on in the game and that individual hasn't forgotten you or been reduced in intelligence at all.

Suffice to say, with the exception of the Broodmothers themselves all darkspawn are birthed not tainted victims like Utha.

The other two GW in the Calling realized the hate was possessing them and changing who they were.  So you don't stay the same.  Being filled with an increased amount of hate, rage, and anger as they realized would not allow you to stay the same person.  The change is not only physical.
