Like you know how like in mass effect 1 the like skill of ur squad members mattered, like if they were engineer or biotic or combat and such... my question is does it matter like on how mass effect 1 where u needed an engineer to bypass things, repair ur mako and such, does it matter like that in mass effect 2 like in 1 or can u just bypass anything now and such and dont need an engineeer now? and if u do its really hard to know whos who in mass effect 2 .... i just know tali is full engineer from mass effect 1 but does it affect in 2? this thought keeps bothering me while i play so i just have tali or garrus in my group just in case while i play and causes me to like not be able to play other members... if u can clarify this it will be awesome! ty!

You do not need any special squad member in order to hack terminals or bypass locks in Mass Effect 2.
