Zaeed, is awesome. He has the same taste in ship models, weapon love, and enemy's helmets.
Jacob is tooo...token.
Thane is cool, but he'll get all the chicks.
Mordin would be a close second to Zaeed. You know he can take care of himself and you if you're caught in a corner.
And joker, cuz of the wit.
So, Zaeed, Mordin, Joker. And grunt if you're just out to hit mailboxes. The other 3 can go run a train on their two dimensional selves. Plus snipers are loners and who wants to hang out with someone that's likely to spend 30 minutes on the phone saying waaaaaazzuuuuuuup.

Yup, compliments his sniping twice on his recruitment. And it's mutual! If you hack the game to be able to take Thane on Garrus's recruitment, he comments "This man is a crack shot."Marta Rio wrote...
Gaaarrrrrrrruuussss (if I'm playing as a manShep).
Did anyone else get the impression that Garrus has a huge man-crush on Thane? I can't recall exactly the lines of dialogue, but I think he calls Thane "impressive" at least once or twice. No reason that there can't be intersquad bromances, I suppose.

Me personally I think I would go with Thane. He and I are like soulmates. We are fully aware of our mortality. Our lives are just small blips in the massive time frame of the universe and we realize that it is our responsibility to make the most of our time not for ourselves, but for everyone.
We realize that the reward of life comes in leaving it knowing that you have left behind a better future for future generations.
Plus, the two of us both have scars, emotional scars that we can confide with each other about. I would love to hug Thane so we can cry on each other's shoulders for a while.
Ah, bromances. On my only MaleShep [paragon/earthborn/war-hero] ME2 playthrough, I'd have to agree with the OP that Thane is the best guy to have a bromance with. His relationship with Shepard is a respectful one, where he appears to be on the same level as the commander and never fails to treat them as such. There's none of that hero worshipping thing going on. It's flattering, yes, but I'm not sure how well it'd fare in a bromance.
I also think Jacob is an excellent candidate, except he'd make a better "Bro" for my main paragade, colonist FemShep. He's morally opinionated, but not in a 'holier-than-thou' manner that irritates my FemShep. And his happy-go-lucky attitude meshes well with her casual demeanor, which often acts as a catalyst for more light-hearted conversations in spite of the chaos around them.
As for Garrus, Wrex, Grunt and Zaeed, they have more of a trusted comrade-in-arms relationship with Shepard. Psychologically, I think they're on a different spectrum, ranging from a wise, sage-like war veteran, to someone who's still figuring out where they belong in the world. It's not that their bond is superficial in comparison to a bromance, but it's that they won't be trading similar notes on how to conduct their lives. There will always be a mentor-protege dymanic between them, until someone catches up.
Kaidan, Mordin and Joker are the outliers. Neither relational description fits.

If so, Garrus. Definitely.
I wish Legion's character could be explored a bit more. One of the more interesting characters so far, imo.

The best female equivalent of a bromance that I've heard was "womance," but even then that's not on quite the same level as bromance (as bromance implies "bro" or brother)RayneMoon wrote...
I'm a femshep but I would have a girl bromance (?) with Tali. She's really awesome and is an absolutely great friend.
