The mage tower
When your in the fade you can find so many permanet stat increasing things
Thats what i think is the best area to visit i enhanced my cunning by like 3 strength by 5 consititution by 2 magic by 2  dexterity by 3 and thats searching for every bit i could find as a warrior maybe it would be different if i were a mage.

What do you think is the best area to go to?

I agree with this, I was a mage and hit the tower first and it was nice with the boosts and connection to the origin. I would certainly say the first place not to go would be the Dalish place though, I'm not sure what it is but I'm on my second play through now and starting with that place has been a real uphill battle with those tree things wiping the floor with me every fight.

Other reasons to visit the mage tower yet.

1. Additional quest path for a very big quest in Redcliffe.

2. Wynne. She is EPIC win.

Wynne is probably the most consistently useful party member, especially for difficult fights.

I agree. I am yet to experience a party casualty all thanks to Almighty Wynne.

And my PC finds her maternal and warm.

It is a wynne wynne situation.

I still get casualties with Wynne in full effect. But she revives them, so no big deal. I do go through lyrium potions really quickly, though.

well, to play the evil way (the real way) u have to get rid of wynne, aka to beat higher difficulty u kinda have to be a healer mage urself by sticking to the true nature of men.

yeah that bugs me alot, i'm a real pansy now, which deprived me of the overpowered arcane warrior/blood mage build. we need a selfish healer. maybe morrigan will suffice...

Morri works pretty wall as a combo damage/healer but unless you like to micromanage a lot you have to invest in tactics slots and of course she starts out blank on party healing buffs. The two combined means you end up at level `12ish or so before she really starts coming into her own. It has been bugging me that Morri like Lilianna have the pre assigned skills scattered all over the place making some of them wasted no matter how you build. Their interaction amongst each other and with Alistiar are priceless making up for it on this play through.

I went to the Bracelin forest first on my first playthrough. I did not know what I was doing, but man, am I glad I went there. Playing as a mage. :-)

Of course, Wynee is just to dang good not to have in your party.

Wynne has that lotr gandalf feel to her. I prefer Morrigan. She a b**** but thats whats fun about her. Just like vicionia, I just want to see the party squabbling thanks to her. Just make sure your first pick is that heal spell, while you don't need group heal you most certainly need the heal line of spells. Also, the waking nightmare line of spells is oh so fun. Hint: hex + drain = mega drain; its a spell combo. Evil and you get some good healing out of it.

Follow Morrigan's advice and head straight to Denerim and conquer for the good of Ferelden!

(just kidding O.o) I've only gone straight to Redcliffe / Mage Tower / Orzammar and thus far.. Orzammar seems to have some decent things about it but has some hard fought battles. Mage Tower locks you in until you finish.. which could be good or bad depending on how well stocked you can keep yourself (obviously why they give you a healer). Redcliffe I didn't get too far in.. it reminded me a bit of Lothering and I stopped just before I went to the castle.

Hope the info helps some people :) I'll probably take another shot through the Mage Tower on another play through.

i'll be going to Ozrammar first this time cos it is the longest and i want to get it out of the ay quickly, I ould only go to the mage tower first if i was going to side with the mages bcause...

*SPOILER*

If you side with the mages then you can save both Connor and Isolde at redcliffe granted you dont kill Jowan so he can suggest it.

I liked orzrammer and its extending deep road's areas the best, even though i did it last ><. It was the most interesting, and the closest thing to "dark fantasy epic" this game had to offer, that broodmother was awesome :)

If you have the 26 strength required for the Warden Commander's armour then I think the Warden Keep is a good first stop. It's short, has some decent stuff, 2 abilities of questionable use and the Warden armour which is just sweetness.

The #1 place I suggest NOT going first is Orz...not only is it the longest but with out giving out spoilers it has two of the hardest encounters in the game...

Just over with my first playtrough (on nightmare) and I agree circle is the best, not really for the +stats but for wynne.

I never had anyone knocked out even on nightmare until I went to redcliff, the quest was brutal, people kept being knocked out all the time. Once I got wynne from the circle of magi, suddently it was just as easy as it was before starting the recruitment part of the story.

I tried orzammar first but when I got to the provings I got my ass kicked since I was a rogue with most of my talents in bows, they just wrecked me up close. Went and did redcliffe and mage's tower, came back as a ranger and let my bear destroy them.
