As you'll see, most of this post I spend talking about who I like and don't like. But regardless of my opinions, what are yours?
I absolutely love ME2. ME was a great game; ME2 is a cut above that work.
At least as far as my own personal likes and dislikes, though, I find that the only ME characters available as teammates, Tali and Garrus, are easily two of the most likeable team members. Make that 3 if you count Joker as a team member.
The only ME2 teammate I really, really like is Solus. He's just a hoot, and he makes a lot of sense, too.
Grunt is obviously a brute, but he's enthusiastic, enjoys his work, and has a can-do attitude. He's definitely likeable.
I have trouble liking any of the other new characters.
Miranda is the closest. We do get to see the Ice Queen melt a little, and that makes her slightly interesting. Also, props to the devs for the aesthetic: they really did a great job of making Miranda babalicious, and that covers up some of the flaws. Really, though, she doesn't have a lot of personality and what she has is pretty nasty.
Jacob is an earnest sort, and polite, but he's completely humorless and his frequently-offered advice is almost invariably wrong. Humorless and wrong is a bad combination.
Jack is obviously a heinous ****. There's nothing really the matter with that in story-telling, but her character just doesn't have a lot of depth. What does Jack like? What does she want? It's cool that we get a little explanation of why she's the way she is, but that still doesn'tmake her interesting.
Samara has Wynne's (Dragon Age, same voice actress) melodramatic, irritating voice. Didn't want to adventure with Wynne; don't want to adventure with Samara. She gets on my nerves. And for somebody who has been around for hundreds of years, she's short on any interesting stories to tell, or interesting backstory.
Thane could be a pretty good character, because he's mellow and logical. But that incredibly hokey business where he suddenly breaks into the film noir-type dialogue just makes me laugh and turns him from a decent character into a complete joke. With all the excellent writing in ME2, it boggles my mind that somebody allowed that to see the light of the day. Raymond Chandler is dead, people. Let him rest in peace.
The production values and dialogue are so high that they manage to make some interesting cutscenes anyway, but I find most of these characters nowhere near as interesting as Wrex & Liara, my favorite ME characters, and I think that shows when the ME characters who are around in ME2 are so much more interesting than most of the new types.
Anyway, regardless of whether you agree with that or not, who do you like and dislike?
Which new characters do you like? (spoilers)

Mordin: hilarious and totally believable; his moral ambiguity really works, and the voice acting is fantastic which I think is a miracle, he could just as well have been a disaster, but they pulled it off. Great character.
Miranda: I'm probably biased because I've always thought the only way Yvonne Strahovski could possibly be any hotter was if she was a brunette, so... yeah. I do think she's an interesting character, though, she doesn't really fit the "ice queen" stereotype if you do all the dialogue and her loyalty quest, but she's tough when she needs to be.
Grunt: Probably the one character where I think the writing is spot-on, but he still annoys the crap out of me. He's basically a teenage Krogan, so he has to act the way he does, and his journey of self-discovery is totally believable, but the constant rambling is still annoying. I liked Wrex's battle-weary veteran shtick better.
Jacob: Somebody had to be the boyscout, I guess. But what the hell is it with those shoulderplates? Eh. His eyes look weird too. Good loyalty quest, though.
Jack: Her two missions are fun, but she's such a cardboard cutout of a character, I really can't stand her. Compare her to Miranda, and you'll see why I like Miranda.
Thane: Makes me think of Lance Henriksen, and that's always a good thing. The zap-zap flashback facial closeups are beyond silly, but I don't mind them. Weakest loyalty quest in the game, though.
Samara's by far my favorite. All of her dialogue kicks ass, and with all the moral ambiguity in the ME universe, having a character in there that scares the crap out of everyone because of her simple black and white morals is a great idea. Also, maybe it's just me, but her face and the voice acting really click, she seems 100% like a real person, even more than Mordin.
Zaeed: Very well constructed face model with a lot of personality, but apparently they liked it so much that they were scared to animate it... other than that, I guess he's just a walking stereotype, but not in a way that's a problem, and his loyalty quest rocks.

TL:DR first: I love Mordin and like Thane.
1.) Mordin is just... awesome. At first I thought of him as a sort of a comedy relief character, but he's so much more. His scientist mind in combination with his approach to spirituality, ethics and even entertainment are just extremely well done. Although yes, he does make me laugh a lot. But since I don't laugh at him, it's actually a very good thing. Love him
2.) Thane... hard to put my finger on it. I just like how calm he is. Although that probably goes without saying for an assassin. But chatting with him is rather relaxing, eases off tension I think. I like to have him around, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I love him.
3.) Samara: Yeah, she's a lot like a very violent Wynne. In DA:O I almost always have Wynne around. And in ME2 Samara's almost always on my teams. They're both the "wise woman" type, and I find both to be very soothing company. Although I'm glad Wynne didn't get a boobjob and got robes with extra cleavage.
4.) Miranda: She's rather shallow, and I can't really get into people with such unfounded inferiority complexes. nevertheless, looking at her never grows old. Yeah, I'm shallow as well, I admit it
5.) Jack: Hate her. Her character is linear from when you get her to when the game ends. There isn't one crewmate with less character development. Even EDI has more, and she's an AI and you never take her on loyalty missions (although, well, you take her on everyone else's loyalty mission). I don't know what people find in her. She's neither interesting nor really badass.
6.) Grunt: Horrible character when compared to the awesomeness that was Urdnot Wrex. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but when you start off with Wrex, you simply can't accept Grunt anymore. He might be the "best" Krogan alive, but he's just so annoying.
7.) Zaeed: Although I think he's an awful git, I have to admit that this was intended and he is probably one of the better written ME2 characters for that. I still hate him though.
8.) Kelly Chambers... I've warmed up to her a good deal, even to a point where I wished she were an actual LI with a bit more story behind it. Cute, bubbly type with no out-of-the-ordinary issues. Someone to relax with and pretend you're just a normal couple. I like that somehow...
Edit:
Shoot, forgot JAcob. Although that alone should tell you how I think about him

Yeah, I like Kelly, too. She's very much like some real people I've known, and I'm certain she would be a pleasure to work with. Love interest, not so sure about that, I'd have to know she isn't going to spread herself too thin.

By the way, this is semi-off topic, but it really struck me how much more interesting Garrus and Tali are in ME2. I thought they were the two most boring characters in ME1, but this time around they're both awesome. With Tali it's mostly because she seems more grown up and headstrong now, and with Garrus, the whole "Dirty Harry" vigilante thing just works better, I'm not sure why.

I love them all.
I now specially love Grunt because I just completed my female Adept insanity Legion recruitment mission with him and, hell, HE JUST NEVER DIES. He killed a Scion all by himself, with the help of a claymore. Awesome.
Though I prefer Garrus and Tali (the only ones I really wanted on my team), I like Thane, Grunt, Mordin, Legion and Samara specially among the new ones. Jack's cool and interesting, but I don't understand her, and I am better biotic than her. Finally, for me Miranda and Jacob are the weakest. Not because they are bad, but because the other ones are superior for me.

I like:
Garrus (Boring in the first, but now he's an awesome Vigilante)
Grunt (Good Contrast with Wrex)
Mordin (He is the very Model of a Scientist Salarian, after all)
Jack (Did the Romance with her, she seems a lot different now)
Legion (It's like when the Kligons became the good guys!)
Samara (Black and White morality in a Sea of Gray)
Thane (Repentant, Religious Assassin? Cool)
Zaeed (He's like the crazy uncle everyone says not to invite, but you do anyway!)
Couldn't care less about Miranda
Tali is alright, but something about wanting to destroy a sentient species (Geth) doesn't sit right with me.

Favorite:
Samara (loyalty mission was moving, her Normandy dialogue gives her a lot of depth)
Liked:
Mordin (hilarious dialogue coupled with deep questions about the morality of the genophage)
Legion (awesome dialogue, massive reveals about the Geth, unfortunate you couldn't recruit him sooner)
Miranda (grew to like her more as game went along)
Zaeed (cool loyalty mission)
Garrus (awesome to see him following in Shepard's footsteps on Omega)
Grunt (straightforward character, but does have some hilarious dialogue)
Indifferent:
Jack
Jacob
Thane

Mordin: Chatting with Mordin is an awesome experience of it's own, but for some reason a fast chatting salarian didn't sound like an extreme for their race. Considering salarians as a whole converse in a hastened higher-than-normal pitch voice to begin with, I was hoping Mordin's rugged appearance and malicious outlook would give him some kinda gruff... maybe I should stop expecting Dr. House.
Miranda: Eh.... Miranda wasn't too exciting. I barely used her in combat and interfacing with her just wasn't as fun as the other characters. I get her position on the ship and in the story, but she always felt like a pain with her many interjections and little quips... I felt like I needed to remind her the reason I was dug out of the ground in the first place. I know what I'm doing, sit down and look pretty... no, wait... you're already doing it wrong.
Grunt: What a fun guy. Even my paragon shep gets him with his developing rage management. I enjoyed throwing my weight around the krogans in Grunt's name, getting their respect makes you feel badass. And it helps that he can be pretty handy on a battlefield, especially with truckloads of husk in your face.
Jacob: What happened to the lower half of this man's body? He looks like a funnel, all wide at the top, then a narrow past the mid. It always threw me off with ever 3/4 shot. His loyalty was pretty good, but after doing his I thought... "What the hell? Does my entire crew have family issues and identity crisis?! No one helped me track down the slavers that killed my family... I have issues too. *Sniff*"
Jack: Awesome combat character for my infiltrator. We had a trade off of me keeping them pinned down at a distance and she would flank them, top that with Tali's engineering distraction and enemies went down easy. I found her character to be the most profound, her sob story made sense and when I brought her to face the facts on her loyalty it made the whole trip worth it... especially the end. Plus her face has a weird charm...
Thane: Thane was an interesting character, his sad story won over my shep's heart. She's a wimp to the soft sides of trouble past... especially when they got problems... *cough* Kaiden *cough* ...but to my dismay I didn't use him in combat as often considering I was a sniper already... His loyalty was ...different... but in the end it made sense that he would be the one to escort people to safety when he can follow a target into all types of dangerous situations.
Samara: I got her... but I didn't like her. She was dull. Her loyalty was okay, but it brought me to think... why in any situation would I get the psycho kill-me-for-sex daughter within 50 feet of me, let alone in my squad? I felt forced to run with Samara, the lesser of two evils.
Zaeed: For lack of dialogue I enjoyed Zaeed's stories. I didn't go all the way with his loyalty, but still got his loyalty through being the good guy... something about that tactic made me remiss of ME1's Saren and Anderson spectre mission... blowing up the base to pull off the guards, killing everyone else in the process. Felt like that was an opportunity to make that right.
Garrus: I'm gonna put him in this because I felt like he changed a little from ME1 to ME2. Is it just me or has he gotten way obnoxious in combat since ME1, had he only said "Boom! Headshot!" then that would had been the deal breaker. His loyalty seemed well deserved, just because I was all paragon and wanted Garrus to make the right choice didn't mean I was going to stand between him and his demons especially when standing between the two could get a military grade sniper shell in the back of my head... and why couldn't he patch his armor? Was it for camera angles?
Miranda: Eh.... Miranda wasn't too exciting. I barely used her in combat and interfacing with her just wasn't as fun as the other characters. Here are my favorites in order:
1) Grunt: I liked him better than Wrex. Yes, I said it. Wrex was amazing but he was such a Debbie Downer every time the G-Phage came up. Grunt is up beat and even funny in an aggressive kind of way. Sure there is not a lot of depth to him, but he is born on your ship and still learning about himself
2) Mordin: I enjoy arguing with him. He has alot more dialog lines than the other characters, and his sex stories/advice are funny in a creepy kind of way
3) Miranda: I don't think she is attractive, and I think she does not look like her VA (jawline is all wrong). But she goes from being bitter and jealous to obedient and grateful - the way she backs me up at the end against TIM is pretty rewarding. Her 'Cerberus Leader' skill is invaluable and hence I take her on almost all missions (just not the one with Husks where I need Zaeed and Mordin to create seas of fire)
4) Zaeed: I like this guy even with very little content. I understand his obsession with Vito and I always let him kill the guy. Sorry to the refinery workers but no garantee that Vito won't use human shields again if I ever track him down later.

I can't say as though I "Hate" any, the sad-faced Thane annoys me, but by no means enough that it gets to me. I think Samara is an overdone cliche but in a squad reeve is just plain beast.
Nah, don't hate any characters, some of the personalities get under my skin, but that would be a sign of good writing.

1. Mordin. This guy is the man. He has the most humourous conversations of any character by far. Additionally, I liked his quick way of thinking - the guy never really hesitates about anything, and I like that sense of self-awareness.
2. Zaeed. I enjoyed all his stories. Plus, he is a badass and doesn't have any reservations about it. Additionally, his voice actor is awesome.
3. Legion. Don't know why I like him, but I think his humor gets to me, as well.
That's about it when it comes to new characters.

1. Mordin - Funny and intelligent. Just has a magnetic personality. He genuinely cares about the welfare of other people, but also understands that sometimes severe force is needed to weed out the malicious and dangerous.
2. Grunt - A violent, loyal Krogan fighting for you. What's not to love?
3. Jacob - A good bro for male shepard, but it's a real shame that his romance was badly written.
4. Samara - An interesting character. Really thought the outfit was excessively revealing though. She's supposed to be a super hero/paladin.
5. Miranda - At first she seems to be very cold, but you can see that she genuinely cares for her sister, which is nice and humanizes her. Unfortunately, I never got to talk to her after the loyalty mission because she got mad that I told her to lay off of Jack.
6. Legion - Legion isn't interesting himself, but the information he gives about the geth is.
7. Zaeed - A tough mercenary with interesting stories. Shame there are no real conversations with him outside the loyalty.
8. Thane - He's just rather uninteresting to me, and I disagree with a lot of his views. He appears to be a bit of a gentleman though, so that's cool.
9 Jack - Interesting to see a female character done in this way, but I don't really like her. Some of her lines are fantastic, but as a whole the package is unattractive.
10. Morinth - The devil.
4,5,6 are interchangeable.
Have a feeling I'm forgetting someone...

Alrighty.
Miranda - I like her because she's level-headed and smart. She's very cold at the beginning and I kind of like the (albeit very cliche) "chip away at the ice queen to reveal humanity" shtick. She's very much like my Shepard - interestingly enough the only time I didn't like her was when she barged in and shouted at Joker. It seemed to go against her carefully collected, level headed character. Her romance needed more depth. T'was a disaster.
Grunt - His matter-of-fact view of life and casual approach regarding violence was just too hilarious. I also like that he views Shepard as a father figure.
Garrus - Actually developed a sense of humour in this here game. Shame he's obsessed with his calibrations.
Samara - I wasn't expecting to like her, but she ended up being much more compassionate than I was ever expecting.
Mordin - Goes without saying. He's just too awesome. His loyalty mission has probably my favourite dialogue in a Mass Effect game. The way his actor can believably portray his inner conflicts and polar ideologies at the same time was outstanding.
Legion - Mainly just because of his insight towards the geth. Talking to him was never boring.
