Please tell me after we complete this that we can complete the Main Story we can go back and finish the side quests. I was really annoyed that you sometimes have to wait until later in the game to finish side quests. The first time i played through i intended to finish all the quests afterwards when everywhere was accessable. Then i found out i can only finish up DLC afterwards. Please Bioware let us complete quests after the main story.

Why don't you just finish all the side quest before completing the main story?

I just completed my first playthrough and was devistated by the complete and ubrupt kick back to the load screen. I really wanted to be able to go back and finish side quests afterwards and adventure with Leliana as promised. AFter doing some more research I find that I missed out on a lot of side quests I just never found. Kick back to load screen/game over is not very player freindly, makes me really wary of plunking down another $40 on this game, only to get the game over screen again.

If you care so much about completing all the side quests before the main quest, just go to the wikia, read about the ideal order of quests and that's it.

I agree and hope that at least in the next installment they let us explore and complete quests after the main story as a lot of people prefer to do the main quest first to see the ending then worry about all side quests

I would love it if they would fix Jowan's intentions for PS3 and X-box consoles. My poor mage is always having to tun in her best friend and hope for the best if she wants any sort of closer as far as Jowan's concerned.

The "Jowan's Intention" quest never appears if you are a Mage, only if you did not know Jowan at all in your Origin.

That is why you would be having trouble... you are not supposed to get it.

This is not true, my friend.

I am a mage, got the jowan quest.

If you want this quest, you have to release Jowan from the prison when you encounter him. Let him go (not important if you had betraied him or not)

Be aware, doing this, you can't obatin the traveller trophy.

To answer the OP, yes. The game does not save after killing the final creature thus you can reload before the final boss and exit the area back to the world map and complete your side quests. I encountered only 1 "one time only" quest in the expansion during the Architects portion of the main story..

most RPGs always benefit from some kind of "Playable Epilogue". Since Dragon Age II is taking a lot of cues from Mass Effect, hopefully they can also include a Playable Epilogue ala Mass Effect 2.

Also, an arena where you can fight enemies post-game would be nice. Simply so you can show off your character to friends without spoiling any story events for them (since you've already beaten the game)

Oh yeah, time for the obligatory TV Tropes link (MUHAHAHAHA):

Seems to me it is a little bit about whether one is roleplaying or meta-gaming. As a role player, there are things one will miss. You are not omniscient.

I am not saying you are making an invalid point. I think it is a matter of taste.

Myself, I do a fair bit of meta-gaming. However, I appreciate that, due to the game's complex structure, I can still discover new things on a sixth play.

Yes it does.  Jowan's intention shows up no matter what origin you choose.  The quest is bugged it shows up on the board and you can pick it up but it never triggers.  If you're on PC you and trigger it by opening the de bug console.  Since I have it on PS3 I'll never get to see that quest through.

Meta-gaming? I hate that lol.

* SLIGHT SPOILERS*

If Dragon Age II has a "playable epilogue" anything like Origins, with an excuse thrown in saying "you've been rewound in time to before the Battle Of Denerim so you can finish DLC" etc, I may avoid it entirely and do sidequests before the end of the game.

I'd pefer a playable epilogue similar to Mass Effect 2, where the continuity continues on from the end of the game, and you can sort of talk to party members about the stuff that's happened etc.

But, I'd understand if Bioware can't include one, especially if the end game includes some massive "world changing" event

Hate the word meta-gaming or the concept? If the practice, then you should stay away from forums...
