Hi Guys, I Ran the DLC Installer with my proper EA account and it is still not showing up in my game.
I have the deluxe game, so this dlc came with my game, and the game is registered with this account through bioware and ea.
Yet, the dlc is not showing up in either the dlc section from the main menu, or the dlc section in the in-game "journal" tab. I'm confused as to what I should do in order to get the dlc to work.

Ok, so I downloaded modazipin, and when I open it shows that I have no add ins. Can I use it to make my broken DLC installer run properly?

OK, just checked the Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age that the DLC installer says it's installing the DLC into. Inside it, I have seven folders, one of which being called "addons".
I'm assuming that's where the installer is supposed to install the dlc, but when I look there, I do not see any files. There are also no dlc related files in the other folders.

Yes, it is supposed to go there. Make sure you run the DLC installer as the same user as you play the game with.

I'm certainly sure that I am doing that.
At first I wasn't because I had a lot of accounts under different names but then I just changed it to my school email to be sure that I had the right email account. I then Re-Installed the DLC under that name and it still doesn't show up in that folder or in the game. Is there a way I can petition bioware to send me a new dlc installer? I have a feeling that it is just broken, considering how many times and different ways I have tried to install the DLC.

@umpabumpa -> You can't buy DLC for the Mac version with BioWare points to my knowledge, you have to use the special installer packaged with the digital deluxe edition.
@beestmode360 -> have you checked under your "Profile -> Your registered game promotions" on the left side of the page here? It should list what your account is authorized for. If nothing else that will tell you if the installer is failing to install the content despite your account being authorized for it or if the installer is not registering your promotion code to your account at all.
If it is authorized to your account you should be able to manually install. If it's not registering then there might be a way to register separately and THEN manual install.

I FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so do this Go to User>Library>Preferences>DragonAge...
When i deleted this file and opened my game it told me to re enter my registration code. After I did that I went into game and it found my DLC. I then logged into my account and it enabled it!
Worked for me so it might work for you.

Oh, as warning. I don't know how this will effect your characters. I didn't have any characters at the time because before i did this i tried reinstalling it so i lost my previous characters from that.

Requirement:
Windows DA:O (you need this to download a DLC, in order to obtain a DAZIP of the DLC and a properly-set Addins.xml)
To get a DLC working, you need a module directory of the DLC (if it is packaged as a DAZIP, it can be expanded as a ZIP) and Addins.xml.
BTW, I strongly recommend you to back up Addins.xml beforehand, in case you mess it up.
Put the module directory and Addins.xml under <your_home_dir>/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Addins and <your_home_dir>/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings, respectively.
Now, launch DA:O, you should be able to play the DLC!
(I dunno, but be sure to check the version compatibility of DLC, Mac DA:O is not latest version - 1.01 or something, if my memory's correct)

For most DLC you can actually fudge the game version for the Mac, if you change the <GameVersion> tag to nothing or 1.01, for Return to Ostagar (the only DLC with a greater than 1.01 version to my knowledge) this works and causes no problems
But I'm not sure if Ichimaru69 is talking about getting it to work on PC or Mac.... the original poster was having problems with Transgaming's DLC installer from the Digital Deluxe version.

Right-click DLC installer, then choose "Show Package Contents."
Go to <DLC_installer>/Contents/Resources, then look for TGZ files (or some other form of archive), they must be containing DLC.
Archive Utility has no problem expanding them, so expand them, you will see a directory "dao_prc_nrx_1" or something.
And, put expanded module directories under <your_home>/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Addins.
It's possible that you need to change Addins.xml, but hmm, I think it's all right.
If it's not all right at all, come back here, I'll do what I can then.

Hi All,
I am also having the same problem. Already tried to extract tgz files to AddIns folder but still doesn't work :'(
Actually can anyone tell me what the AddIns folder looks like after copying extracted DLC contents please? And is there additional step to have the DLC appear in my downloadable contents?
Many thanks.

I found a helpful thread "(FAQ) Answers to some Mac Questions".
You should see the last part of the first post, talking about how to enable "Return to Ostagar".
http://social.biowar...9/index/1657591
Also, here is the direct link for DLCs (Mac version don't download DLCs in-game, so get them here).
http://dragonage.wik...adable_Contents
I only talked about "Addins" here, but it turned out that for some DLCs "Offers" things are also needed to enable them.
See "(FAQ) Answers to some Mac Questions" and follow the instructions, then you can play DLC.

Yes, the "offers", as I understand it, are the scenes where you get the quest (that you need for the DLC) from a NPC.

You know I am THOROUGHLY pissed off about this.
I'm having the same problems described above: I follow the instructions to the letter and the DLC which I payed for are not being installed properly. I'm playing on the Mac and bought the deluxe edition thinking I'd have some fun with new quests and some new armor.
Nope.
I tried manually installing the files to their respective spots under ~/documents/bioware/dragon age/addins and ~/documents/....../offers and nothing.
I registered the game with the activation code and promo code sent to me from Gametree (probably the last product I'll buy from them), but when I go to check out my registered game promotions under my profile here the only promotion that it offers a windows download for is the blood armor.
I'm really upset about this. I paid money for a product to work, not so I could dink around with it.

I have tried to no avail to get this RTO DLC to work on my Mac. I still could not get the Offer files to work. I have PM'd several people here asking for their assistance but have heard back from no-one. I could care less about the lousy $5.00 I spent on the DLC, I just wanted to get some extra gameplay out of DA:O.

Bratt, did you try the solution I posted yesterday in the FAQ thread? As I mentioned there, the method described in ikelma's FAQ itself got corrupted and is now incomplete. Did you change the .xml files as described in eleve's post I mentioned there?

Marvin_Arnold, yes, I did. However, I could not get the Offer file to download properly. I jut tried it again now and it seems to have downloaded this time. I will try to play around with it again today if I have time. I hope I will have some success this time around. I want to thank you for being so helpful, it is truly appreciated

Well I dinked around and found a bug in the DLC installer app. It assumes that the user name is also the name of their home directory. Mine was not. So I changed my username and reinstalled the DLC's and now everything works just fine. That means that before the files were trying to install to a directory that didn't exist, only for whatever reason the DLC installer app didn't report any failures to copy files, which led to much confusion and frustration.
