I propose a custom class option for after you complete at least one playthrough for ME3.
I mean, I love the classes and all but after I've beaten the game with each class I'd like to have some fun and just make some crazy classes.

The option would let you choose
class Title:
Weapons: 1-5, less weapons = more ammo for each weapon and more weapons = less ammo for each weapon
Specialization: 1
Unique Power: 1
Basic Powers: 3
Bonus Power: 1

Ex:
Title: Cowboy
Weapon: Only the heavy pistol (Since that's the only weapon, instead of 24 rounds, It'll have 60, or something)
Specialization: Combat Mastery
Unique power: Adrenaline Rush
Basic Powers: Cryo, Incendary, Disruptor ammo
Bonus Power: Warp Ammo

or:
Title: Pyromaniac
Weapons: Flame Thrower
Specialization: Assault mastery
Unique: Charge
Basic: Incinerate, AI Hacking, Overload
Bonus: Inferno Grenade

What'cha guys think?

Melee only Infiltrator has got to be fun (if you cannot get to melee range, you may use your squadmates to kill such enemies).

Perhaps I should change that to 0-5 weapons
Lol I hadn't considered just running around punching everything, but dang that would suck so bad on insanity against the praetorian...

I messed around with that. Pretty tough. I might make a video later

I think an "Overlord class" would be cool.

Title: Overlord

Weapons: Assault rifle(No LMG), Sniper Rifles

Specialization: Guardian

Unique Power: Combat Drone

Basic Powers: A.I Hacking, Domination, Throw

Bonus Power: Incineration

Description: Depends on interfering with/distracting enemies to extract victories from difficult situations. Can quickly outnumber both synthetic and organic enemies with a powerful combat drone and hacked/brainwashed minions. Uses mid-range assault rifles and long range sniper rifles to prevent taking too much fire and keeping enough distance to orchestrate minions and squad mates in combat. Suffers from a lack of heavy hitting direct attacks other than incinerate.

It would be cool if they had uber classes.  Imagine a vanguard with tech armor or a soldier with invisibility cloak.  That would be cool if you could just pick up one of the other classes unique power.  I would go with:

Soldier-cloak
Vanguard-tech armor
Infiltrator-drone
Adept-tech armor
Engineer-tech armor or cloak
Sentinel-adrenaline rush

well seeing as tech armor last till it gets shot off you could easily pop it on before you get to a location with actual combat then its not a problem...
As to the OP I too was thinking it would be awesome to be able to make a custom class. I think though that instead of the ammount of weapons you have effecting your total ammo it should change the amount of ammo vs. special abilities you can choose. E.G. take heavy pistol and shotgun you can choose one ammo power but can choose four special abilities, alternatively take one of everything you can have four ammo powers and one special ability.

You turn on the tech armor before going into battle.  When you combine that with the vanguard's playstyle, you can imagine how powerful it would make him.  Plow into close range (emidiately recharging shields) and then start killing.  If it gets too hot, your tech armor will knock everyone back.  I would definately choose tech armor for my vanguard.

I don't understand why these kinds of things aren't included as rewards for completing 2 play-throughs or for beating the game on insanity or some other fitting accomplishment. I'm always amazed at how often game developers opt to over-control the potential of a game instead of giving players options which would facilitate longer replay value.

-In this case, people have made these kinds of mods already to their PC games so it was easily doable.

-None of the custom characters people created could be anymore different than the class and weapons changes Bioware made from ME1 to ME2 so it can't be argued it would ruin the consistency of the Mass Effect universe.

-It's a single player game so who cares what people come up with.

It's the same with the faux game plus Bioware put into this game at the last minute. Why not let people choose if they want to play again from the beginning starting with nothing or reuse a fully upgraded character with intact weapons upgrades and paragon/renegade points. Why not let people choose if they want to skip rescanning planets with a character that has already done that once? Why they limit replay choices that are easily technically doable I will never understand. It always amazes me that as soon as the mods are made it's the same 4 or 5 mods that most people want and that the game developers either didn't foresee or didn't care enough to bother to include-despite how easily they are created and implemented by the players.
