I'm not sure I consider this a bugged quest line. You tried to double-deal the two kings-in-waiting, you should be screwed.
Good luck fighting the Blight without the dwarves...

Thx 4 the link TalBear, I found it and was playing when you replied =)
As for double-dealing, the plot line really did not leave a lot of room to make an informed decision about whom to support without working both quests to some point. Unlike some, I don't like making political decisions without knowing the facts LOL.
As I said, the designers planned for it anyway, or they wouldn't have created a splash screen (loading screen) that stated you were supporting both candidates and would soon need to choose a side. They just didn't follow through with the QA on doing it.

@TallBearNC
It still doesn't work. Seems like the german version can't handle the game's console.

I still have the bug after Patch 1.02. Now I can talk to Vartag again but he sends me to the Tornei which I already have done. Bhelen's guy still only wants me to talk to Harrowmond so the situation didn't change.

BioWare claimed they were fixing this in the topic I created on this same issue but that was before the patch and the issue persists.

Always try to keep save games from each major plot point, and hold on to them at least until you're done with that section of the plot. Relying on quicksaves and autosaves leads to getting kicked in the gonads by issues like this.

Yes, that's a way of metagaming. When facing such decisions, one could simply stop their current character, and start a new character.
When I played this part, I thought a little more information is needed, but my picking was mostly done by instinct.
