As the title says I'm getting a 13 inch MacBook and I'm hoping that Dragon Age will run on it. The specs are as follows:
2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
4 GB RAM
500 GB HD
NVidia GeForce 9400M with 256 MB of RAM
As far as I can tell, the only possible problem would be the processor (if I'm reading the game's requirements right, that is.) I couldn't configure anything about the processor or graphic card when I ordered the MacBook, so I'm sort of afraid that I may be bottlenecked out of the game with no possible solution. Do you guys think DA:O will be able to run, and how well would it?
Thank you very much for any help you can give.
Getting the new 13" MacBook, hoping I can run DA:O

Only thing I can say is that your laptop may run hot, you might want to get yourself Smc fan control, to help keep the processor cool, perhaps those fan pads where you rest your laptop on, to also keep cool.
Good luck and happy gaming!

Yes it will run but with all the settings at low at 1280. Also your gona want to get the utility to change the fam speed while you are playing. It does get hot quick at the apple default speed, which will futher slow it down.

Well, I may end up holding off on buying Dragon Age for my MacBook for now. I've already got it for my gaming PC, and it works like a dream on that...I really don't want to spend $50 all over again and get nothing but problems. Thanks to all who responded.

If you have it for your gaming PC, certainly do NOT give them $50 for the mac version. There is zero support, patches, DLC etc for the mac version and quite frankly I think the wrapping was a crappy job. Stick with the PC version and if you want to play it on the mac, get a copy of windows on there

I have the 13" macbook (mostly stock but 4GB of RAM) and the game runs fine on the Mac side, not as pretty as the PC side and there is a bit more jerky slowness whereas the PC side is pretty smooth. It is certainly playable though. And with tools like Modazipin you can recover some of the DLC/Mod experience from the PC side. What I'm most worried about is the lack of patches. I only bought the mac version because of direct2drive's half-off deal but I will say if you already have the PC version characters transfer over just fine.
I personally haven't had any of the catastrophic type of issues some people are reporting but maybe I'm just lucky or the 4GB of RAM really makes a huge difference. I played through the whole assault of the living dead on Redcliffe village part in one go no problem, the more hectic battle got the more jerky but NOTHING like dead drop in frame rate or slowness. I didn't overheat either but again YMMV. I'd say if bootcamp isn't a hassle you'd be best to buy the PC version as it will likely run smoother with the baseline specs.
