Same as everyone here. I'll give him a chance, but if he pushes me [won't take much, the guy slaughtered my family] by spouting how great Rendon Howe was, then this punk will be dead.



Not to mention he apparently snuck into the castle to murder Grey Wardens.

Just out of curiosity I'll recruit him to see how he behaves and what kind of person he is, and if he does not die from the joining I'll put my 2h sword into his face.
Simple as that, anybody who agrees with a person who killed my family will kiss my blade.

I really, really hope my human noble gets the chance to point out to him that Rendon Howe had everyone in the castle slaughtered. Not just every adult Cousland his men could find, but her sister-in-law and nephew, and the cook and the servants and some house guests unlucky enough to be staying there at the time. While it might be politically smart to try and keep word of what happened from getting out, from a moral perspective that's completely unjustifiable.

I was referring to MORRIGAN not returning in Awakening. Utha I presume WILL be in it and have a major part to reveal the Wardens --> Ghoul transition.

Who's Nathaniel to the Howes? Isn't Howe's son named Thomas?

We don't know how Nathaniel is related to the Howe's. He hasn't been announced by Bioware yet. Technically, none of us are even supposed to know his name still. Primaguides leaked it on their website, and that's how this all started.



We won't actually know anything else about him until he is announced. Most likely sometime later this week.

His son that was interested in the female noble was Thomas, yes. 

Nathaniel could be another son, or a distant cousin.

Based on the way the guy in the Penny Arcade comic talks about Rendon Howe as a distant, glorified person I'm guessing it's not his son.

Remember how Zevran tried to kill you and ended up being an interesting character if you got to know him? I would guess you would have to show the same kind of mercy/this guy can fight so let's have him kill darkspawn mentality as you did with Zevran to get to know the character.

I never found Zevran interesting. His backstory wasn't bad, but I found his banters obnoxious.



I have high hopes that this guy will be everything Zevran should have been.

As a human Noble I am inclined to see your point of view - quite vividly.

Nathaniel isnt very likely to be one of Howe's kids - Thomas and Delilah are the only known ones, and they were likely kicked out of Amarenthine. I suspect that he is a nephew or something and (if he is the the guy in the comics) has been away for a while. I'm guessing Antiva from the way he's fighting.

... Despite my hatred for Arl Rendon Howe I guess I could find it in my Nobles heart to - - - forgive Nathaniel, at least for his ignorance. Guy comes homes and finds it overrun with Orlesians - whats he to think?

The Howe family has for generations fought for Fereldan against the Orlesians, and then some. Should we really let one bad apple ruin the family name forever? Are we humans like the dwarves with their castes that we cannot forgive the younger of the sins of the elder?

Give the guy a chance to fight by your side - if he turns on you then gut him. Thats my two cents.

I think there's a good possibility that Nathaniel might then be an adopted son or a ward of sorts, given the Howe name by Rendon. Perhaps he was orphaned or had some such bad past/childhood and Howe saved him from whatever it was. That might explain his loyalty.

Just a thought, but no matter what I want this guy in my HNM's party, if only to see how their relationship may grow and what we may learn if this infiltrator's real character.

He also mentions that his grandfather was a grey warden, might be on the mother's side that though.

As to having him in my party *rubs hands evilly* I truly cant wait!

Theres little I love more than compelling conflict, makes for a great story - so I really hope this guy has a complex and interesting background & personality - the only things that'll keep me from smashing his face in.

Either way, whether he manages to win my HN over or winds up losing a head - I'm gonna love the interaction.

My human noble won't hold his ignorance against him. But he just might be the first eligible Companion that I'll put to the sword without feeling like I'm breaking the roleplay. Time to trim the fat off this party..!

By Looking at what we've got so far which is very little. My opinon is that this Nathaniel isn't directly related to Rendon Howe judging on appearance. He seem's to has respect for the Wardens. Yes Respect the Wardens, his grandfarther was a warden yes? Does anyone recall Arl Howe mentioning that his farther was a Grey warden when Duncan showed up at the castle nor did Duncan start a conversation with the Arl about said Warden grandparent.

As I said before he holds respects for the wardens in general, but due to his hatred of the orlaisian empire and seeing as most wardens are infact Orlaisian, he sterotypes them and judges them as one.

We'll see what he has to say to a Fereldan born warden, most likely he'll be less "Hostile".

By the way he moves, he's obviously been trained in Antiva. Almost Crow like. A Master Crow? Seeing as Arl howe was the man who got ahold of zevran, he must have had some connection to the Crows.
