I am not going to make any preplans other then to see how the story plays itself out. I am going to bet, or hope at least, there their is a real choice you have to make with regard to him. As in, the Amarathines don't really like the howe's being removed and Nathan in some way will help you in dealing with them. I am certain there will be some way you handicap yourself for just killing him.

Of course, bioware could have come up with a much better decision, but I will let the story play out with my noble. He could very easily find my dragonbone greatsword splitting his skull in half, but we shall see.

My first run through i will most likely just run him through purely because i told howe i'd murder his family when i killed him, But if he dosnt irritate me i might let him live. Dunno i ran Zevhran through several times before i was satisfied from him attempting to kill me :D.

After reading Penny Arcade, it looks like Lady Cousland is going to have to beat some sense into this little sissy douchebag

Sissy? Did you miss the part of the comic where hes breaking into a castle? I think youll meet him in Vigils Keep and either order your guards to kill him or say if he can get in here he could be useful. WAITER! One joining chalice please.

Oh, he's undoubtedly a sissy. If he admires Howe so much, and Howe was too much of a sissy to face me one on one in a duel - then he is a sissy too (it runs in the family).

I am the first person in my family generation to be in the army. Am i a sissy for being shot at?

I hope we have the option to kill him when we meet first meet him, like Zevran. I had him alive in first playthrough, realised my mistake, and killed him before even waking him up to talk to him in every other playthrough.

... I don't like Zevran.

Not joining the army dosn't make you a sissy, Ambushing you're "friends" family while they sleep, however, does. Then hiding behind you're Mage's skirt when its time to face the music further adds to your sissiness. Admiring someone who employs these tactics makes you a sissy by proxy.

I shall make a footstool out of his hide, to go along with the loghain-hide armchair and the rendon-hide throw pillows.

You are assuming that Nathaniel knows what Howe did to the Couslands. He doesn't. He assumes that whatever happened, they must have deserved it. Because he saw a different side to Arl Howe than we did.

You can blame someone for another's actions all you want to. But that does not make the person you blame truly responsible for it.

When I play as human noble I plan on showing the Howe guy his old bed room at the estate. you know, where the late Arl kept all his football trophies and reveal that I've turned his old room into A PERSONAL BATHROOM!

nobles tend to have a good bit of gold, the wardens can use a donation =)

But it sure feels good to have something or someone to blame.

I'll give him a chance to prove himself, but if he gets out of line I'd be more than happy to turn him into a woman with my maul.

If the Couslands raised their kid to be like that, they deserve to die.

Perhaps they didn't raise him to be like that.

People can evolve without parental guidance.

Another Howe? So long as he isn't as butt-fugly as his old man/uncle, I think I can manage.

Actually, Nathaniel looks pretty attractive. Though he does have the Howe hook nose thing going on. Which was the first clue that he was related.

Most PCs would have matured enough to realize that Arl Howe's actions were not Nathaniel's fault. Therefore they wouldn't blame him for them. I dunno about you, but I can't see a blood thirsty vengence crazed immature PC as commander of the Grey Wardens.

I intend to kill Nathaniel. Even if he had nothing to do with attacking Highever, he killed a warden.

I think everyone is forgetting Arl Howe's -true- crime... it wasn't murdering the Couslands. It was not having enough lines. I mean, they got Tim Curry... and wasted it on all of... perhaps two paragraphs? three?

Seriously!  Mauls are so not the right weapon to use to do that!  Bryce and Eleanor clearly would have instructed their kids to use dull daggers.  Dull, rusty daggers.  ;)

Alas, still not the right weapon. It's so hard on the carpeting. I'm sure you understand.

Edit: It would help if I could learn to type tonight.  -.-

Well, if they damage the carpet, we can at least be assured that the drapes will most likely survive.
