Romances are poorly paced because the main story is so short. If there were a few more collector missions after you get Legion, there would be more opportunities to flesh out the romances.

"Flesh" them out, eh? You're just after the cutscenes, perv.

Puns are always intended.  :P

Hopefully we've only seen part of the stories of each of the romances so far. Hopefully they'll pick up where we left off in the next game. And hopefully Bioware won't let Fox News dictate their creative decisions.

This applies especially to Tali's romance. I mean, it's cute and all, but the pacing could have been so much better.

There is very little buildup to the romance, unlike what we experienced with Ashley in ME1. Basically, you come up to Tali, and suddenly she is asking if Shepard could bang her... I admire her drive, but not her complete lack of subtlety. It also seems so unlike her character - she demonstrates her awkwardness when it comes to romance, and it shows, but couldn't she have put off talk about sex until she managed to establish a relationship with Shepard?

Don't know what the rest of you guys think - but BioWare rushed the romances a little bit this time around. They're still good... but they could have been better.

I've seen videos of Jacob's romance, and it appears to be the same thing - Jacob comes up to Shepard and asks for sex, albeit in a more subtle way than Tali did.

Thoughts?

Definitely.  Things could've been much more intimate and mature.  But with Shepard being the flat and static character he is, the best lines he could give are the ones about trust, and only wanting her.  Which isn't much removed from Liara saying she was interested in Shepard (and she believing she's making a fool of herself), but her conversation is only slightly more adult.  Shepard does say to Liara "No, you were right.  There is something between us."  In comparison, although you do get Tali somewhat late, she's been longing for you for 2 years.

Both end up talking about sex in their own species-way.  Shepard is concerned that both are making the right choice in being with each other (Liara's choice to choose someone special, Tali's health), and they both become intimate right before the last battle.
