So there's an interesting story behind this, with me expecting to be able to put points awarded for achievements in Dragon Age towards purchasing the DLC, which is offered in game at the cost of (Bioware) points.  Anyways, after contacting EA support I have found these apparently are not the same, and the only way to obtain Bioware points is to purchase them.  To that I say this:

"Point systems such as Bioware points are only useful if there is more than 1 way to obtain points.  If the only way to obtain them is by purchasing them directly, then they are merely an inconvenient and obtuse medium to the actual price of purchasing the item(s) in question.  If this point system is to be sustained, at least some points should be offered for store purchases or in-game achievements or special events or... to entice players to pay the difference for other products.  Even in this case, point systems are still obtuse, and you should rather offer something such as Bioware Money or some form of store credit."

Anyways, so this was a little of a tirade.  However, I think it works and could help the bottom line as well.  If you have some credit towards another game perhaps, you will be more likely to pay the difference to get it, allowing Bioware to sell more copies and make more profit.

Anyways, just my thoughts.  Anyone else care to voice an opinion?
