Personally, I don't think reapers actually exist. Saren just did a really good job convincing Shep that the reapers were the real threat and not him. Now Shepard just sees what he wants to see.

The ending of ME3 is going to show Shepard in a straight jacket sitting in some mental hospital, drooling and babbling about 'giant squid machines' (sounds like some sick hentai fan's idea) taking over the galaxy.

Then the screen flashes over to the turian council member laughing at him.

You have some of it right, the truth is, the whole trilogy is in shepards mind, it's not 2183 either, it's closer to 1999. NONE OF IT'S REAL!

Invite them to Afterlife, then a Batarian will handle the problem.

Couldn't we re-orientate the mass-relays and fling large pieces of metal at them?

We could write angry letters or put them on a time out.

Professor Mordin Solus will genegineer a space-resistant strand of shipworms that will simply eat the whole Reaper armada. Assimilate this.

"Ah yes, Reapers."

Any possibilities we could use the Reapers in a giant Reaper Civil War to fight amongst themselves?

True story:

I had a couple of friends over who watched the ME2 ending with me. After taking down the end boss Leugim and I were talking about the future fight in ME3. He said this:

"Reapers shouldn't be too hard to take out. Like how many are left? Three?"

*Scene with hundreds of Reapers appearing*

"Shiiiiiit!"

They need the "Little Doctor".

THANK YOU! I was hoping someone else would think of that reference.

Also, most people did save the Formic Rachni Queen. >.>

Pretty much what makes the ending so great. You kill that thing and you're thinking "man we just kicked ass, how bad can the Reapers really be?" *cue dark space turning light from all the Reapers powering up*

What scares me the most about this scene is that with so many reapers, and with Sovereign having destroyed so many ships by itself, I am afraid a virus of some sort could be the only thing that could destroy them. Of course, I would be very disappointed if BW decided to end the ME trilogy with a damned virus. Unfortunately, I cannot imagine any other way of defeating that many reapers.

Same here. I remember watching and enjoying most of Independence Day, but when the whole "virus" idea came up, I just rolled my eyes.

Mordin=Jeff Goldblum, anyone? ^_^

I stared blankly at the screen then started dropping a couple f-bombs when that cutscene came on.

There's nothing that says we can't pull an Independence Day and upload a virus to each Reaper to disable their shields.  Granted, it would be stupid as hell, but it would still get the job done.

Haha, I can't believe you're old enough to remember that movie.

Hahahahah!

Oh wait, I am too.

We just have the Reapers drink something. Like in War of the Worlds where it was our water. We will make them drink Tupari.

Not a virus, just upoad the geth into the reapers, their compatable software so they would act like a virus and maybe control the reaper vessels.

We'll just upload some dark energy into their mothership.

no. We'll just capture one of the smaller ships and fly it close enough to the mothership to upload a virus and disable all their shields. then we'll just instruct our pilots to do KAMAKAZIE missions into their primary weapons.

wait.....

Darn it! You beat me to the Independence Day reference. Haha.

But yes, The Alliance should make sure we go to war with the Reapers on the 4th of July. Oh, and don't forget about that bullet-to-the-tin-can-on-the-mini-ship test.

Epic battle does not have to be fair. Council/Alliance+ can zerg the reapers with great courage and painful results, and that will still be epic. In fact inferior technology good guys bravely zerging superior tech evil guys is a very common epic plot device, such as with:

Oouri arrival in Stargate, Borg at Wolf 359 in Star Trek, Reach in Halo, Shadow War in Babylon 5... or more obscure instances like Bentusi in Cataclysm, UN forces vs Angels in Evangelion, Antoray/Dissith+Silvana vs Guild in Last Exile.

Good guys got the ****** beat out of them in all these instances but the epic factor was always top notch. In order for the good guys to win ME 3 in this scenario there could either be a huge number of good guy zergs or some epic awesome fixed defenses around mass relays/citadel that tip the balance enough for a close-fought stalemate/reapers run away.

At the end of the day anything is good as long as it is NOT some ridiculous deus ex machina virus or torpedo in the exhaust port B.S.
