I'm having this trouble right now with DA:O PC retail. I know my cd key is valid - I copied it (via right-click copy) from the DA:O configuration tool. I'm on this page:

and I enter a valid key but still get "Code is not valid for game".

I'm having the same problem with Awakening.

Steam copy.  Checked both the listed CD key from Steam and the config.

Well, it appears that this is indeed a problem on Bioware's end so hopefully it gets fixed soon. Although apparently this has been going on for a few days.

Actually, checking the thread, it seems to only have been happening for the past 7-8 hours.  There's a 5 month entry, but that was resolved so is likely another issue altogether.  The rest are today.

Imo there are several threads active and we should all concentrate to one , so mods can see this is serious matter and that this is happening for days now for digital and retail versions for DAO , DAA and ME2 ( because it seems they weren't aware there is a problem ) .

Same problem have a steam copy but it says I have an invalid key when I go to register the game. Hopefully a fix will be up soon

Same problem here. Won't let me register my retail boxed versions of Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2. I did get the ME2 DLC, am downloading ME2_Hammerhead.exe at the moment, no problems with the Cerberus network in game. Weird thing is it did accept my DA:O Awakening cd key.

Dragon Age Servers can't be contacted either (I'm in Co. Dublin, Ireland) for the past three days. This means I can't get the free DLC I got with the game (Stone Prisoner and Blood Armour). At least with ME2, I could download directly with Firefox, but my game refuses to connect. It has firewall exceptions.

I did leave a question using the Email Us option at the bottom of the screen two days ago, no anwswers yet. I was able to register Dragon Age on the EA Site, but that's a different site, Bioware Social and the EA Site don't trade information.

Ah thank you for clearing this up as I am having the same problems (I am in England) withy my reail version. I cant access the DLC nor register the game and assumed it was just me having issues getting it but it is reasuring that others are having same problems.

Hopefully we will get information back soon.

Also to the person who linked the Bioware response, thanks for posting that as its good to see they are aware of the problem. I would say this thread is best being used for the "cant register game" problem as we have got a fair few people using it now.

It's weird I can register the Expansion just fine, just not the original game(Retail boxed version uk)

I cannot register my retail version of Dragon Age Origins either, says the code is invalid and I have checked it even from the configuration utility, where the code is same as printed on my game handbook. I am from Finland and got the game 2 days ago from the retail store.

Same...retail box version of Origins in US.
I was able to register my game on the EA website without a key code at

Oh I forgot to ask, has anybody who had issues with the DLC been able to download theirs as I noticed a few others on this thread was having issues?



It is still not allowing me to download the DLC but the game is registering on the site now.

good lord just another of the same probs...what is with this game...thinking i should have saved money and gotten an x box version...oooo wait thats right they are having the same probs...lmao with a stinking x box game u kinda take ur chances on the pc versions of anything thats why u cannot return or otherwise re sell them...becouse they know it will more then likely fail...but the x box version come on whats going on hear?feeling a bit scammed...i got all the add ons aand the game and everything and i cant play not one of the add ons not one!!!!if this dude had hair he would pull it out!!!i want my castle i payed for and my box and armour and stone giant and grrr i ge none they get money....feeling very very mad.bought to start a protest...heh.

and btw garfield i could dl it but after that i couldnt play it...so have fun dling and paying for something u cant ever play...but u could tell ur friends u have the new add ons...thats about all its good for...i dont mean to be ignorant but i have lost 2 saved games becouse it locked me out saying i wasnt the autherised user of the dl content!!!omg!!!how autherised do u have to be its my comp its my game and it was my money that bought the stinking add ons...so now im on my 3rd game and said what the hell maybe it will work this time!!!ARG!!!!no such luck!!!still doing the same damned thing it acknowledges i have the content but i cannot play it or use it!!!

I found the coniguration utility, but it just crashes right away... I can't seem to get anything working and I paid for the Deluxe Edition too.
