Okeer more interesting than Grunt? Not a chance! Sure Okeer probably had good stories to tell but with Grunt you get to watch him grow into adulthood, experience new things and basically become the stud he is. You get to watch his life unfold right before your eyes.

Going into a suicide mission you generally want to have someone with nothing to lose. Grunt doesn't have an identity or clan until later and so has nothing to lose.

I prefer Okeer, he is a badass krogan scientist and warlord, overall much more like wrex (old and with stories to tell) than grunt is.

I would prefer to have both of them. Also maybe they could argue on certain matters like which clan grunt should join. It would be interesting to see.

Okeer would have interesting, Grunt's loyalty mission is really funny though, which helps balance out the more dramatic/downbeat Genophage segment with Mordin, and let's you experience a really interesting part of Krogan culture. And of course he's voiced by the legend Steve Blum which helps...

Okeer cannot tackle Scion. Grunt wins. :)
But seriously, although Grunt is not as good as Wrex, he is still pretty cool.

Thanks for posting that video, man. I SO enjoyed it when I stumbled across it in youtube a couple o'  months ago. Now THAT is a helpful squadmate. Squadmate AI FTW!

I was sorta hoping that Okeer would survive. I recall a conversation with Wrex where he asked me if I had ever seen a Krogan scientist and I was looking forward to a callback to that conversation in this game triggered by taking Okeer to Tuchanka.

As for the thread, well it's funny to think Okeer garnered such a positive response for the small bit of screen time he had, especially compared to Grunt, the squadmate he's being compared to here. I think it's just another comment on how ell the writers did in the game, as well as the crew of voice actors they had. I'm all for bringing him (Okeer) back in ME3. He sounded like one of those shady politicians you can never get a straight answer out of. "Ah, yes. The Collectors. A human concern..." What a way to say "I'll only help if you give me something in return".

Okeer's dead. You can't have him in ME3

He dies, so if he comes back in ME3 it'll be thanks to the LazarusProject. Image IPB

I would love to see Okeer implemented as a dlc (unlikely to happen but one can dream) with a choice like morinth/samara. You could choose Grunt or Okeer, so the character number would be kept at 12. He would have similar abilities to Wrex, seeing as he was a warlord (aren´t those battlemasters as well?).

I think it would be really interested to have him evolve in personality, as you discover who the collectors really are. Also he could have a conflict with Mordin about the genophage, much like Tali/Legion, when you can lose the loyalty of one of the two.If you bring Okeer to Tuchanka he could have some interesting dialogue as well.

To be honest i never completely understood why Grunt was allowed to join the clan Urdnot, if you ask Wrex he says that he only allow Grunt to join because of you (Shepard). If he were other tank-bred Krogan without Shepard supporting him, it seems like Wrex would not have admited it in the clan.

Overall i really like the character of Okeer, he is very interesting as he is one of the few (and sucessful) Krogan scientist. He seems very smart compared to the other Krogan scientist in Tuchanka, who is only concerned with blowing things. Okeer could also offer a lot of insight about collector technology and how he used it on Grunt, currently we know next to nothing about it. Lastly i think Okeer´s armour looked a lot better than Grunt one (more like the other Krogan) plus i find him one of the most interesting Krogans, along with Wrex and the patriarch.

Support Okeer as squadmate! (not going to happen thought...) :pinched:

Grunt is my favorite character in the ME universe and with good reason. He brings back the childish excitement in you, for example if you leave him to hold the line against the collectors. He calls you and says something along the lines of, "This is great Shepard! You're missing it all. We're climbing over the bodies of the enemies".

Again if you bring him to Tali's recruitment, with the Geth Colossus, Grunt is giddy excitement on the thought of fighting it. Grunt just seems like he'd laugh at the sight of hundreds of Reapers approaching and be excited for the fight to come. Someone you can trust to watch your back no matter what. It's not like he just cares about "kill, kill, kill" he's also trying to figure out why. And watching a Krogan Baby mature to adulthood really brings a tear to my eye.

Okeer would have been splendid too, but in my 'opinion' not as great as Grunt.

Grunt Smile FTW

Grunt seemed like his purpose was to show the players what a typical krogan was like. Wrex was much more level-headed and calm than krogan usually are. Grunt, meanwhile, is impulsive and trigger-happy, just like most krogan.

Anyone agrees? Grunt is basically an adult baby, who only cares about fighting and fighting.

he was designed that way, and frankly thats one of the reasons i like him so much and why i think he is a hell of an asset to the team

Grunt is frankly one of my favorite squadmates
