My favorite class ME1 was the Infiltrator. It got owned when they removed crouching and added retarded "Aim-Assist" to mess up your shots in ME2 and were too lazy to add the option to turn it off (XBox360).
The class still is really fun though.
Your fav class got ownd!!!

The removal of the "you only shoot as well as you're leveled" mechanic made the combat classes much better this time around. The infiltrator really feels like a deadly sniper and the vanguard really feels like a close combat maniac. Can you imagine how awful vanguard charge would be if shotgun damage worked the same way it did in ME1?
I actually prefer the ME2 adept to the ME1 adept, even if there was a certain overpowered charm in disabling 8-10 enemies right at the beginning of a fight. If you really want to feel like an ME1 adept, veteran difficulty and below do the trick admirably. The global cooldown prevents taking out 8-10 enemies at once, but the fact that an adept with a few upgrades can cast pull or throw every 2 seconds is awesome.

Vanguard in ME1 was probably the best class imo. The shotgun was freakish and it had biotics on top of that.
But I didnt like the Vanguard in ME2. I mean, it was really fun to use, but its practicality for higher difficulties left something lacking.

I had a lvl60 Engineer which I imported for my second ME2 playthrough.
After already using the novelty of combat drone with Tali i knew I was going to get bored very quickly. So I restarted and changed my character to an Infiltrator.
I will give Engineer a go at some point but not for a while.
Engineers aren't solely dependent on the Drone. In fact, most of their players use the drones for specific situations while others spam them. I prefer to sit back, strip their shields then execute a cryo + ammo clip burst or an incinerate kill. I use Drone against the heavy enemies such as Krogan, YMIR mechs and Harbinger.. But I mostly use Cryo and Incinerate since I absolutely love them.

I kinda miss not being able to peg someone around with throw if their shields are up.

Imagine playing Mass Effect 1 with a Vanguard from Mass Effect 2
You can roughly simulate this in ME2 by taking Barrier as your bonus power...and playing on "Easy" mode.
[edit] oops...I thought you meant the other way around
