So, someone posted this on youtube:

Either this is just cut content, or there'll be some kind of DLC later with extra Liara/Shadow Broker sidequests. I'm hoping for DLC.

I imagine they just decided to rewrite her part. She seems to be using helping with the Collectors as an excuse, for example, but in the current game you can defeat them completely without ANY input from her. It would be hilarious if its post-game DLC and she uses the same excuse only to find out you blew them up.

There were similiar unused lines in ME 1 that I saw Youtubes of.  There was romantic dialogue for Ashley with a fem Shep, I believe and a few other things that ended up being rewritten..

Hmm. Didn't think that this might be a rewrite.

Gawd I hope this doesn't end up happening. The Shadow Broker is far too interesting of a character to simply be killed of so easily.

Holy hell, this seems like massive spoilers...

If this is anything like the Kasumi information that came out, I'd say it might hint at the Liara DLC that's been rumored.

Ironic that dark horse comics is using this cut content to tell the story.

I think so too.  There is a lot you could do with him.  In the end, he is just a callous business person, which, considering everyone Shepard has faced, is probably slightly less bad than genocidal machines or terrorists.

It would be a scary turn to scene Liara become a shadowy figure in her own right...maybe that is why someone said ME 3 will be "dark, very dark"!

Well from this dialogue it seems to reveal that Liara will become the next Shadow Broker. Her comments about having the rest of his agents report directly to her seems pretty ominous.

This could lead her to be quite the ally in the next game, but it might mean that plans for her to be a continued love interest might be out the window if she is a powerful and influential NPC...

She could also be quite the enemy as well, if they take that road. A cloaked, shadowy Liara becoming an Emperor Palpatine like character.

If only she truly knew the power of the Dark Side of the Force...

I doubt the Shadow broker will be killed off in dlc lol he/she/it/they plays a big part in the ME story and as we have learned from dlc they never affect the main story.

You know that doesn't discount that from happening then. If you listen to all of the dialogue it appears that Liara becomes the new Shadow Broker... So in a way you just get a Shadow Broker that has a better opinion of you.

If this is DLC I am curious to see what species the Shadow Broker was.

The thing I liked about the Shadow Broker in the first game was that s/he was a true neutral character. S/he dealt in the buying and selling of information and that was it. What people chose to due with said info was up to them. The Shadow Broker didn't want to tip the balance of power one way or another other wise s/he would be out of a job most likely.

Now ME2 has turned into him/her into a generic villain who is most likely going to die at the hands of a barely legal Asari with no people skills. Kinda bums me out.

God I seriously hope that this was cut and isn't going to be in the DLC. From the sound of things, they're setting Liara up to be the next Shadow Broker here, and that would be really, really lame. Why the hell would they take a character that everyone liked, especially considering she's an LI, and turn her into some kind of enemy for Shepard. Hopefully, this is just the leftovers from them deciding not to take that direction. If it's not however, than I just lost a lot of respect for Bioware.

Well, the Shadow Broker is still neutral as in the comics he basically thinks giving Shepard's body is good business and wonders what they could even do with it.  More than that, Liara is in way over her head and either is being protected by Cerberus or the SB is using her as if he wanted her dead, she would have already been dead.

Did anyone notice how Shepard said "Cerberus game me information on the Shadow Broker" in the beginning of that video?

Seems to me you'll get an e-mail like all other DLC about this that will start the quest. Seems a pretty big indicator that this is indeed real DLC.

YES, it's finally revealed why Harbinger wanted Shepard's body so bad.
They cut this section out and forgot to explain why they wanted Shepard leaving a plot hole

Or they cut it out to make DLC for it later.
Alas for Liara it ends up in one big circle-jerk.

Well, just like almost all the DLC (Zaeed, Kasumi and the Hammerhead) they probably cut it out so they can sell it as DLC
But, I don't think they'll release such a big plot line as DLC

Those files oly show how much content was very possibly cut from original game concept and sacrificed for the sake of not to scared Mass Effect newbies who don't bother to play ME 1...

But apparently many of those scenes were prerecorded but then somebody decided that ME 2 will be more or less stand alone game and rest of the cut content will be added later on as DLCs and expansion.

Too bad that Bioware heads were too weak to oppose any such ideas because ME 2 looks like LotR II where Aragorn and the rest of the fellowship (except Frodo and Sam of course) get 10 minutes cameo instead playing major roles as well...

Ugh, I sincerely hope that those audio files were merely from a cut plot line and not some allusion to an upcoming DLC... Liara's character has suffered enough as it is under the whole 'dark second installment' mentality some of the writers have been adhering towards.

Well, I believe we'll get our confirmation that this is indeed DLC dialogue when the devs get wind of this video and order it to be taken down.

Same thing happened to the video showing all of the Kasumi dialogue for the suicide mission...

I am assuming they rewrote a lot of her role, especially in light of the comics.  Considering by the time her DLC comes out, her argument about helping you with the Collectors, as i said, is absolutely pointless because you have rendered them extinct and, in some cases, Cerberus will have their entire base.  Why would you need a rinky dink Info Broker then?

The dialog would've been written and recorded for the game.
The writer couldn't possibly be aware what dialog was going to be ripped out to be served as DLC months ahead, and thus is written from the perspective of you doing it before the end game.
