Here are my first attempts at "Lamp post in winter" cookies!

A little close-up of the second one, so you can see the "glass"

As to details in the making - these are sugar cookies, made with a recipe designed to roll out and cut shapes from. The frosting is just plain old store-bought Wilson's cake/cupcake frosting - yes, apparently they do sell it in glittery black. The "glass" is large sugar crystals that I patted into place before baking, then iced over with the black where appropriate. I've already rethought how I'd do the shapes should I do these again (more of an angle to the top, narrower base to the "lamp" part of things), and if I were making more than just these two, I think I'd get better results with something like a royal icing and something runnier for the "snow" part so that it drips a little more realistically. But hey, I think they're kind of cute, and I'm sure Alistair would approve, right? Right?
Okay, I can't be the only one who's thought to do something like this. So share!
