Stealing has been broken for Xbox gamers since launch. Welcome to our world. The good news is that Bioware will probably actualy try to fix it for PC gamers........

I would rather bioware just keep pumping out patches as fast as it can, and i'm content posting thumbs up / thumbs down on the forums. It certainly beats the "rigorous" new testing process, where we hadn't seen a patch in months, and even then a massively bugged one.

Just don't install the patch if you got problems being a guinea pig, till you see forum feedback.

Everyone! Write to Bioware about the problems with the patch here:

http://help.dragonag...ty=&p_redirect=

If a lot of players report problems, the chance for a fast patch 1.3b or 1.4 is much bigger.

Patch 1.3 is almost a virus in my opinion. Something MUST be done.

Btw: I cannot play with this patch anymore. As Bioware hasn't said anything about any upcoming fix, I want to reinstall the game with 1.02b.

However; I'm a bit worried about doing this. Not because it takes ages, and the DLC can be very hard to install, but because i played the game some hours with 1.03. Will my savegame used with 1.03 work with 1.02b later? There were some chages in the levelup-system and more, so I am worried a return to 1.02b will destroy my savegame. Do anyone know?

And again - steam started downloading patch at start and there is no way back.

Shale's Rock Barrage has ceased to work after the patch. Has anyone else noticed this?

hello bioware. why haven't you fixed things like the critical chance bug and the shapeshifting bugs while awakening is only days away? i feel like you're relying on the community to fix the game - while it's really enjoyable in the way it currently is, I like playing without combat system bugs and currently you seem a bit lazy in fixing them. Therefore, I've decided not to buy Awakening until you release a satisfying patch.

It's a new business plan. Used to be Pay to Play. Now it is Pay to QA.

Again - this patch is a virus. Very disappointing that Bioware are quiet. It would be ok if there were only minor issues, but this patch makes the game unplayable. You can't play a game where you fear crash anytime. And the lag and broken pickpocketing doesn't help much.

The most natural thing would be an easy way to return to 1.02a for those who want it - until a patch for 1.03 is ready.

Has not crashed for me. Regardless, calling it a virus is a bit hyperbolic.

Bioware, please don't touch my PS3 with your hackney patches. Also, stop torturing PC and 360 users with strange and impractical jokes!

Ya-know, Bioware might really want to get on top of this situation-considering they want people to buy a product that is going to force them to install a borked patch.

I won't be installing this until someone mods back in the shattering of Lieutenants.
Much like the spell nerfs in 1.02, I will no longer accept changes I do not want.

Sure, but don't expect to play Awakening then.

I'll tell you what-fix the borked patch, and give us complete notes for all the stealth nerfs (like the one to Wade's armors), and I'll think about giving you guys more money.

Well the Wiki shows this:

Patch 1.03

Release date: 3 March 2010
You do not need to download patches prior to Patch 1.03. Downloading Patch 1.03 contains all previous patches. Downloading Patch 1.03 will provide you with all patch data available.

Note: Warning! Patch 1.03 fixes none of the major mechanics bugs: to name just a few, Crossbows remain attribute-less; Ranged Attack Speed Bugs persist; +X% Healing Received Bug was not addressed. Moreover, the patch is incredibly buggy by itself. It can, and probably will, conflict severely with your DLCs: for instance, Return to Ostagar and/or Warden's Keep may get disabled or reset to uninstalled status (see also this short 1.03-DLC conflict troubleshooting note). On some systems, GUI will get 'fixed' by this patch, too: stamina/mana bar will look permanently empty. Sadly, that is not all: in fact, new bugs were introduced into the game -- 1.03 Bugs Discussion on BioWare Forums.

But I suppose that could be user added and not BW..dunno

I'm getting the crashing and the horrible lag as well. Would someone be so kind as to explain how to roll this patch back, short of uninstalling and losing all my saves and specializations?

Reversed the URL for the 1.02a patch from the 1.03 link.  You can get the 1.02a patch from the BioWare servers using this link.  AFAIK you cannot "roll back"; you must uninstall, re-install and then repatch.

I am noticing a slight stutter while running around, and every attempt I make to return to camp ends up crashing the PC. I will be re-installing, as I presently have mods installed, and will report back if I have any luck.

Patch 1.03 is seriously bugged. My character lost his weapons after the patch. They just disappeared totally from his hands. They were not in the party inventory. I had to go back to 1.02 to recover them.
