Unfortunately, as was pointed out in another thread, the mods aren't Bioware employees, so we don't even have any direct evidence that Bioware is aware of these issues (though it's hard to imagine they're not).  It's getting on towards close of business on friday, and next tuesday, this crap patch is going to be forced down the throat of a lot of unsuspecting DA players who buy Awakenings.  How Bioware has fallen.

Update/clarification on the Vartag Gavorn bug - the problem is that as soon as you enter your first fight in the proving, your journal gets updated and "A Prince's Favor: The First Task" becomes a failed quest.  This update is supposed to happen after the final match. 

Actually that's a fix, not a bug.  If you enter the first fight and then still try and complete "A Prince's Favor: The First Task" before you do all the proving fights, it can lead to a situation where you are locked out of both sides of the dwarven king quest line.  By making it so that you can't complete the Prince's task after entering the proving they are fixing that bug.

Now if Vartag no longer appears to confront you after the proving that is probably a minor bug introduced while trying to fix the bigger one.

Its dissapointing how they don't seem to be communicating at all. I'm still using 1.02 though and its no awakening to me before these nasty issues have been dealt with. Moreover it would be nice to get a word whether they are going to adress other numerious bugs like problems with end game dialog.

Ummm from what i have been reading in alot of folks posts  the game is crashing alot after the patch has been applied.

I'm not having any issues, other than a bit of Lag. Truth be told, I noticed the Lag in combat even BEFORE 1.03 was released.....

Wow, I must say that reading thru these 12 pages has been rather enlightening indeed. After all I have read AND with little to no response from BW on THEIR patch I have to be in agreement with "kingjezza", "Alorakast, and many others of the same opinion.



I also will NOT be installing this, and I will NOT be buying Awakenings, altho I WAS looking forward to it, until all this crap is fixed as I also will not sacrifice my DA:O for DA:A...!!!



So good luck with your sales BW, and please learn to get things right BEFORE you release them. It would save a lot of time and money, for all of us.

Another prob noticed. Since installing 1.03, in the Circle Tower quest, while in the fade, the codex books on magic that are on the floor in the rooms with the golems are not clickable. Same with any books on shelves, and in the raw fade, the two clickable statues.

My whole gaming crew of 387 people have agreed to not purchase DO Awakenings due to the lackadasical attitude toward product & service. 152 of my crew have had their high end pc's crapola out from the game/patches. Bioware...go back to the basics...PONG.

LOL...some of you people are funny.

Looking forward to awakenings.  The new patch fixed long loading times for me...they really weren't terribly long to begin with but are quicker now.  Only issue I had was a mod incompatibility.  The UI mod I installed that raises the font size doesn't like the new patch....other then that, all is well.

Prior to 1.03 patch I had no problems and was just finishing up my second complete playthrough.



After 1.03 patch.....

1) repeated crashes to desktop.

2) lockups during "loading"

3) pickpocket bug

And this is only after about 10 minutes of play. This has sure been an "Awakening" for me and I am no longer planning on being a "first adopter" for the expansion come 3/16.



Looks like I will have to reinstall DA:O sans 1.03 patch. Too bad I can't charge EA for MY time spent to fix THEIR patch!

I can not start to explain what a noob i am as soon as i saw no more slow loading i got the patch in a heart beat but now i can see that the game lags more and yes the loading time is reduced but many other bugs have replaced it! please Bio Ware when Awakening is out send a patch with it and play the game to check for bugs!
