I had to check with the Dev team to make sure, hence the delay.

Yes, if you play Dragon Age: Origins Awakenings out of the box, you will get the patch automatically.

If you get patch 1.03 you automatically get all previous patch material included, so you do not need to get Patch 1.01, then 1.01a, then 1.02, etc. Getting Patch 1.03 will update you fully. :)

I just got the expansion today soooo I do not have to download and install the patch prior to installing the expansion correct?   Now I am wondering why Bioware released the patch before the game was released since it is included in the expansion.

Correct, my understanding is that Awakening already includes the patches up to and including 1.03.  Patch 1.03 is intended to fix long loading times that some users have experienced so would presumably be of interest to people who don't want to buy Awakenings.

Unintentionally got the patch on 360 this morning. No big problems to report other than options reset...including the tutorial was turned on. Once I found the option to disable it things were fine.

I didn't even understand the stealing complaints at first...yes, it has always been a problem on 360. The dog random item too. First couple of times I spent a lot of time looking for items that weren't there!

I haven't had a chance to check the Cleansing Aura yet, but I use that extensively (current party has a Blood Mage-Spirit Healer and Arcane Warrior-Spirit Healer).

Any idea if it fixed the dex bug? Or really any of the things patch 1.02b fixed?

Did the new patch cause any XBOX problems? pickpocket issues etc.

I know it has caused quite a few problems with the PC version and I'm currently reluctant to download the patch on my XBOX.

 Any info here is appreciated.

Pickpocketing has always been broken on the 360 version.

Just a note : When I imported my character I got all my armor and items from the "return to ostagar" DLC, however I dont get the sword from "The Wardens Keep" DLC. Having a 2 handed weapon master with only 1 weapon being dumped in the middle of combat does suck.

PC patch 1.03 creates new bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pickpocket doesn't work unless you steal money. I went to a Chanter's board to get new quests, and only 1 of the 4 available log onto my journal, which means you can't do the other 3!!!!!!!!!!!!! A great game, but the creators just aren't skilled or smart enough to get it right, and sometimes (like this new patch) make it worse when they try

/Agree

Why don't u guys try doing the following:

- Creating a bug forum

- Having a mod create a list of all known bugs (so we know, that u know...)   Each bug should also get its own seperate thread (linked to through the main list) so u have lots of info in one place as to what causes the bug,  who experiences it, etc...

- Put a coder from original design team into the service team.  Draw straws  if you have to.  So at least the service team has a clue what they  can touch without causing the whole deck of cards to come crashing down.

- Focus on incremental patches.  Imagine if you put out an incremental patch 2 months ago, u might have fixed all these game crash/steal bugs before  awakening came out.  I know the public is the best source of testing, so  make your patches small enough that they can be easily undone and u don't  lose a ton of work when u get it wrong.

- You generated a lot of good will with Baldur's Gate series, but ultimately  your ability to keep turning games like this into a success is faith  people have in your ability to make the mechanics work.  Since launch we  have had the dex bug, haste bug, range combat bug all unresolved.  Now we got a steal bug.  In addition to numerous other little bugs (freeze bug, etc).

About the long loading time on the 360, i noticed that sometime it will load without a splashscreen (just a loading message on the bottom corner) and it will load very rapidly, however each time i get the screen the party info on it, it will take much much longer.

I launched DA: Origins today on Xbox and a new patch was downloaded. Anyone knows the changes?
I noticed a few new bugs like floating numbers above my chars head. o.O

But the mainstoryquest for Orzammar (after getting Brankas Diary) is still broken and the new region does not appear on the underground map. :(

I just bought Awakenings - it failed to install because of the 1.03 patch, I read some of this forum and deleted origins/reinstalled it and then tried the 1.02a patch - failed. I deleted all my characters, fail. How to I get the patches working so I can play awakening? Frustration is occuring, lol.

Until today I've held off on installing the patch, but since I got Awakening It installed automatically...and it works perfectly! I'm lucky I guess, although I've never tried stealing, but that seems to be a universal bug.

If you have just started playing Awakenings I believe that is because items from DLC (except RtO?) don't transfer over to the expansion - you might want to check the Awakenings forum for more information.

If you completely uninstalled DA:O and reinstalled it then the only thing you should need to do is install the Awakenings disk since it includes all the patches to date needed to play the expansion.

It's been like that since Mass Effect 1 same goes to Mass Effect 2. It is because of bad optimiztion I suppose, I got 100% CPU Usage when playing on my friend's Quad Core PC.<_<
And of course, with my crappy dual core, the implication might be worse.

Yes, same here with these numbers. And it seems, dex bug isn't fixed. I loaded an old save game and for this char the poison/traps ring menu is now working properly, i.e. I can switch to the second menu ring with the traps...

Check out the reviews on Amazon for the PC version. Not only are the player reviews coming in from verified Amazon buyers now, but the Amazon reseller price is dropping like a stone: from 39.99 to 32.89.

This -18% is within the first 24 hours from its launch!! What will the price be by next week? - 20%? -30%? -50%? (Certainly the trend seems more in range of an add on expansion and less its current "whole new game" price.)

Read the strange 5 star review too. Other reviewers give the game 3 or 2 stars. One explains the storyline is so linear that it sounds to me like railroading the player. And no one has mentioned the problems being discussed on this Topic yet!
