In the french forum (where I do come from), someone has an issue with the locked chests.

He can't open some of them (the hardest in fact), his 4 characters got the "Device Mastery" talents with a higher cunning rank. Before the 1.03, he managed to open all of them.
So I presume this is the last chain of this talent that is broken by the patch 1.03.

Does anyone has meet the same issue?

Hmmm. Looks like I also can't disarm any traps with 1.03. That's another smart anti-piracy move, I assume ;]

Regarding Ostagar: In my last playthrough, I decided not to open the mage's chest but kept the key I'd gotten from the prisoner after feeding him in order to be able to open it on later stages. The journal, however, makes it so as if I hadn't feed him.

I have Soldier's Peak/Stone Prisoner/Return to Ostagar + Awakening installed.

Where the feck has my Blood Dragon armor gone?

I wish I'd never bothered with !The Patch of Death", I was quite happily playing with the retail PC version for weeks.  Then I made the mistake of installing 1.03.

Now as I sure most of you are doing, I save after each fight incase of a crash and as metioned my BloodDragon Armor is gone. (at least Ogren can get warm by the camp fire).

Bioware: please sort this out soon, its a great game but you broke it, dont let this game end up like STALKER where the community tries to fix it cause the developer has abandoned us.

And just so you know I wont be buying Awakenings until I'm confident you have our happiness at the top of your agenda rather than your proffits.

....and thats a promise.

I may have found what was causing the trap detection issues, but I have no way to test it. If you'd like to, check the project page.

Even the original Pac-Man arcade machine had a bug that rendered the game unplayable past a certain point.  Did you hound Namco for your quarter back? :D

Games like Dragon Age are horrifically complex by comparison.  Those bugs you're upset with and want squashed?  Chances are when they are squashed little gory bits of what's left will tear through other code and spawn fresh and seemingly unrelated bugs in a bizarre parthenogenesis that will in turn seed a new round of ranting in your friendly neighborhood Dragon Age/Bioware forums.

It's a vicious cycle.  You can try to wait it out, and never enjoy the game (or expansion), or you can just shrug, grit your teeth, and dive into the frenzy.

I'm sure some of the more obvious 1.03 bugs will have been handled by the time, oh, 1.07 rolls around.  Maybe even sooner if you behave!  :innocent:

Bugs are inevitable, that's true.

But when the game is irrevocably broken to the point of being impossible to play for some people (me included) I'd call that more than just a little bug

I'm surprised they've still kept rather quiet about it. They did say they were looking at the bugs thread for Awakenings but I don't know if they said anything else. It's been a pretty long while now and there expansion pack launch is suffering because of it.

Maybe the sales of the expansion pack aren't suffering, as a vast number of customers probably don't know about the patch problems.

Regardless, they'll probably have another patch out in a month or two, going by past evidence. Perhaps I'll reinstall DA:O then, after I hear some feedback on it.

When will BioWare fix the Ancient Elven Boots bug? I know that there's a mod for this, but isn't BioWare still supposed to fix it?

I was playing DAO a while ago and the bugs still continue. I had just entered the Anvil of the Void, talked with Bronka and fought my though the tunnel toward the fist gauntlet when the auto save came on I and my team were transported directly to Caridin, bypassing the gauntlets all together.

Reading through this so
frequently and seeing so many problems, I reckon that they will release a
patch that will probably be as big as the expansion pack itself. I do
not seem to be able to pass fighting the Inferno Golem with The Lost
One, crashed about 10 times already.

Ok, if loosing Morrigan's Staff wasn't
enough, I get to RedCliff and then to Denerim where everyone is running
around killing darkspown when I noticed that Alister is running around
in his birthday suit, with just his helmet on. Jesus ****ing Christ will
the bull**** never end?!?

So, I manage to finish the game on my 3rd playthrough with my 3rd character. Stealing and dog has been fixed by Surengo (all thanks to him). About the lag, it only happened in some places, but all of them are not severe except Redcliff after the landsmeet before the last battle. Its a hell of lag, really annoying, but I managed to pass it

I'm noticing a few stutters here and there but nothing major. Jallard, the DLC thing has happened before. Just quit your program and reload. It's not a fix, but it beats being nekkid in front of darkspawn.

I'm thinking though the " lock & trap bug" is just people not knowing the numbers. I just took a pair of dalish elves through origins, one DW and one archer. Added a few less points of cunning to the archer and could not detect/disarm the traps in there while the DW could with just a a 2-3 point difference. They're poorly described in game, and even the wiki is fallible.

HI everyone,

Looks like I am having the weirdest problem, because nobody else has it....

Because of memory space I installed my dragon age origins game in a secondary internal hard drive, and now the patch is unable to find it, so it wont install. I have a windows vista if that matters somehow.

please help :P

Have you tried putting the patch on the same drive as the game?

If that's a no go, is the second drive a slave or does it have an OS of its own?

Hi Surango,

Yeah, I tried running the .exe of the patch from the same folder the game is,and it did not work,

Actually I think the second hard drive must simply be a partition of a much bigger hard drive, but both partitions are running on the same OS.

any ideas? thanks for your help surango

Honestly, unless you've completed the DAO and want to install Awakenings, I'd stick with 1.02a until they release the next patch. If you still want to install 1.03, the only fix is to reinstall the game (I hate to be the bearer of bad news!). Remember to backup your savegames and override folder first though.

Unfortunately, this is correct. Unless you're installing Awakenings, I'd do the same- stick with the current patch for now. Secondary harddrives are really meant for storage of universal files (music, movies, ect) that need only a player/reader of some kind to work.
