surely you can uninstall the game and reinstall?
Sure. Steam will download whole 16GB and I'll end up with 1.03 again

Hm... The loading-problem seems to be gone, but the game is lagging a bit now... It's far from unplayable, but a bit annoying. It has also crashed one time in the last two hours. I have never had any crashes before. Perhaps a coincidence, but i doubt that.
No coincidence - the same for me

This patch seems to break pickpocketing.
Every time I've successfully pickpocketed someone I get the "stealing success" message but no item is received nor does the "item received" notification in the bottom left corner appear. If the target has money it steals fine or if they have nothing the "nothing to steal" message appears as it should. So it seems stealing is now bugged specifically in regards to the target having an item but the character not receiving it despite a successful steal.
Anyone else have this issue?
I am also having this issue. I dropped all of my inventory just to check and pickpocketing no longer works for me after this patch.

Seems to be running fine for me so far. *fingers crossed* What are your system specs?
Me? I don't remember the details, but it's far over the requirements, and there were no lagging or crashes at all before the patch - even with top settings (played hundreds of hours) . The loadingscreens were getting slower but never more than 1 minutte. Doesn't look like the loadingscreens are getting slower anymore, but there are some minor lagging now and there was this one crash. The lagging is most noticable when I talk to companions and in in-game videoclips.
Again: The lagging is not a big problem, but I hope Bioware will take time to look at this. (SPOILERS: And the story-bugs at the end if Alistar is not king).

There's a bunch of other oddities in the codices and inconcistencies in the game, but I'm quite sure they have been mentioned about gazillion times. What gives?

And they don't have open bugzilla after all! How do we supposed to report bugs? Forums? How to tell if bug was accepted? When it'll be fixed?!!
Any official response to this?

Bioware is always ignoring issues like this. In all games. There are few dozens of annoying and/or stupid bugs (like famous +healing received bug or that-experience-boost-premium-dlc-ring-without-stats). Don't forget, non-disappearing quest items (e.g. I still have 18 corpse parts for redcliff chantry quest) or impossible-to-finish quests if you'll try to play for both sides in dwarven quest line...

Sadly that seems to be the policy of said company: It was like that back in Baldur's Gate times continuing in the KotOR I (Kotor II was made better by Obsidian). They just let the eager community with their meager tools to make the best out of a game, then cherry-pick the best ideas and implement them in a sequel. What was BG without Kevin Dorner's or Ken Baker's tweaks, just to name a few? Heck, methinks they are still making mods for BG.

Maybe you should use another example, KotOR II had more bugs than all Bioware games combined

Baldur's Gate had tons of bugs corrected by the community.

HInt: A few more gameplay adjustments like that, and nobody will WANT to play Awakening.
Disagree. This patch doesn't bug me in the least and Awakening can't come soon enough. So please, don't speak for "everyone."

Does this mean you are required to have an internet connection in order to be able to play Awakenings? That will be problematic for players without regular internet connection
No. Awakening works just liek Origin. You would need to install and activate, but after that you do not need to be connected.
Do this means that you need to connect to the internet to be able install awakening? I don't have a connection on my gaming computer, so that could be problematic.

• Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. Most of these changes do not affect Origins itself.
I need more information on what changes are made before i install the patch.
Is there a link to all the changes made?
