+1. Umm why are we still waiting, nearly six months after the release of DA:O, for bugs to be fixed and BW manage to push out an expansion. Do the developers at BW understand what ass backwards means?

You have to understand how game teams work. The team building the expansion pack are not the same devs or producers working on the base game. The expansion was planned, resources were allocated, and dev work begun on it before the Base Game even launched. I'm sure the folks who's focus is the BG are still hard at work on patches and fixes, but the resources that were allocated to the Expansion before these issues were known about cant easily be shifted back. Once deadlines and expectations were set, they need to keep focusing on the EP. Now that it's out I bet those resources were quite possibly moved back to the BG to help focus on fixes. I would be surprised if the size of the next patch reflects this.

The problem I have is that there have been some fixes for months now and we have gotten nothing at all, I mean is it really that hard to release a patch that's already been made? They could've very easily included the fixes from previous patches with this one. (1.02 has the fix for dex, which I'm sure is just a minor tweak)
I am still trying to be optomistic though that we will actually see a patch since they're done rushing out the expansion and dlc, but until I actually get the patch and see it work I will remain very skeptical. It would be nice to actually have the game working properly before more people get fed up and trade it in, I know a few that have already and I am getting close myself. Five months is a long time to be waiting for fixes when some of the bugs can cost you hundreds of hours of playtime, or cause character builds to be useless.Image IPB

Im not sure how this works but please don't give me a hard time for this simple question i know its been posted 21 days ago. How do you update the new patch with the xbox 360 i'm a first time owner and really don't know what im doing, i looked at the post and it said all i had to do was log onto xbox live but is the patch downloaded automatically or what im the one who posted on my profile that i've been having massive problems with the game in which at least 6 times now i've played 50+ hours of the game just to be greeted with a error message the file has been damaged and can not load. which mean't i had to start over constantly after spending so much time with it i was hopeing the new patch if it hadn't downloaded it automatically would help fix that game killer bug. any info is greatly appriciated. thank you for you're time.

First, for the updates/patches they are automaticly started when you start the game up, you'll get a little pop-up telling you there's an update right after the EA logo.
As for bug fixes...not a dam thing, in fact the expansion has it's own bugs to add, not to mention the bugs from origins carry over. For the save corruption issue it is caused by overloading a merchant, you need to either really space out your selling of items to different merchants, or destroy them and use the item dupe glitch to get money. Hope this helps.

Loved dragon age origins but not buying the expansion or playing it again to the next patch if there is one. Anyone know of a way to get past the memory ring bug since i wont download the last patch?

The dex bug makes you do a few points less damage? Not really a loss for me because my dual long sword warrior is already unstopable. If the bug affects Awakening than it doesn't really matter to me because I stormed through it already with that warrior only dieing during the fight with the mother. What ending glitch? Either I'm the luckiest DA player alive or my 360 is invincible, I've heard all of these stories about corrupted save files and quest glitches yet have encountered none while playing. But seriously though what is this ending glitch? I'm curious.

Well for daggers you do less damage yeah, it's not a huge deal, but it severely gimps your bows and makes making a pure archer impossible unless you want sh*t damage. You are very lucky for not running into most of the glitches/bugs, I'm jealous. Image IPB
The ending glitch is if you choose to marry Anora as a human noble, it won't always be recognized in the game and Alistar will become king anyways. This also carries over to the expansion and he will be king even if you married Anora and he was killed/sent away.

Warrior is the only class that can played 90% fine, the other 10% is the defense loss due to the dex bug. Another problem is with Arcane Warrior, since you don't have strength for accuracy and you've got to rely on dex and items, but it seems that the items with attack are also broken with AW. And as it mentioned in the above post, archer build is totally broken.

I'm playing now with warrior since it seems it's the class that has not such problems and it can give a taste of how the game could be without bugs.

I played Ultima online years ago and it was run by EA games. They were terrible about making any fixes...I eventually quit the game terribly dissappointed. They are...like any buissness...out for the almighty dollar. We are all suckers for expecting them to do anything at all to address problems. I noticed when I got this game that Bioware had teamed up with EA games and can not remember if they had thier hands in Oblivion. Seems like Oblivion had fewer problems with getting fixes...but then again I was playing that on the pc. I have noticed several issues witht this game...like the lack of items for sucessful pickpocket. No one at 360 live seems to know wheatehr it is a glitch or not. From all the posts I see here...it looks like EA and Bioware are going to skrew us all...and we will let them if we want to play at all. Why do we torment ourselves like this?

I do wonder if it at all occurs to them the overall damage that this is doing to their reputation and customer opinion. I have stopped playing DA:O and it's related content, and the longer I wait for even *news* of fixes the further my disinterest grows. As much as I have enjoyed the game and the world I cannot imagine purchasing anymore content or sequels in the setting at this stage. I simply no longer trust Bioware to in good faith deliver a sufficiently polished product. It's quite sad really, it's not an active kneejerk angry reaction, but a cummalative consequence of being ignored and left with DO:A Awakening which I honestly believe was not fit for sale.

I agree, what they've done with this game has gone a long way in ruining Biowares rep. Bioware is simply EA now and they use the name to generate sales, then will be tossed aside when their reputation means nothing. The MMO is going to fail miserably I think, because EA just has no interest in supporting any of their games, they are out to make as much money as possible with the smallest amount of effort which is very evident from the huge number of bugs that have been here since day one without a single fix. The Bioware we all knew and loved is dead, and I only see things continuing to go downhill with more rushed, poorly tested, bug filled games that will ultimately mean the end of them.

Ever since I downloaded the title update for Awakenings, the "I get no automatic save at the end of the game" bug is back again. I have killed the mother 3 times now in the same game, and I get the pop up paragraphs telling me the end of the tale, but there's no auto save, so as far as my Xbox is concerned, MOM is alive....probably will be alive for all of virtual eternity. I can go in and kill MOM a thousand times and she will still be there. Sort of sounds like a circle of hell, don't you think?

I agree with the general disappointment among these forums. I still don't understand how they were able to release Awakenings with as many bugs as they did. I mean honestly, there are so many bugs did they even play it through once? It's not possible to play that game through and not encounter a big game breaking bug. So where is the fix? My sentinel and vigilance are still broken due to DLC of theirs. Do they just not want me to buy the DLC then to avoid bugs? Instead of a fix they just pump out a new DLC with Darkspawn chronicles. No way am I going to get that after the continued disappointment they have caused me. You are absolutely right in saying the Bioware that I used to call the best developer out there has gone away, nothing but greedy corporate now. Not even a simple response updating us on if any new fixes are close. Of course I probably wouldn't believe them, talk is cheap.

Considering it's been almost 8 months and they haven't done sh*t to fix even the original game I wouldn't get my hopes up. The only time they say they're working on fixes is when they want us to stop being mad at them long enough to buy the next dlc, it's been the same cycle for as long as the game has been out, but sadly people just don't want to, or can't see this.

Nothing will ever change because EA/Bioware only cares about the fanboys. As long as fanboys keep buying DLC and other merchandise, and as long as they outnumber the rest of the fans, gamers will keep getting screwed.

By the way, Bioware, how many bugs are fixed in the "patch" so far? 10% ? 20%. etc.

Yup, that's exactly it. As long as they will mindlessly buy up every dlc and useless item they sell, we will continue to be ignored.

Not that one player maters but I for one have given up, I refuse to pay for any more of this ridiculous DLC they've been spewing, patience and politeness be damned. I won't bother finishing Awakenings (Had I known it's ruinous state I wouldn't have purchased it at all), and have no desire to even consider downloading that last content pack. Sorry but I'm done and will gladly return to greener pastures of gaming, Fallout comes to mind or perhaps Bioware's early work when they actually seemed to care.

That's where a lot of people are, myself included, so it's gonna start to add up for lost customers for them. Not that they'll really notice, but the horrible support has cost them some long time fans, I was a fan for years till EA bought Bioware, then I knew what was going to come.
Quantity rather than quality is EA's idea of how to run a gaming company, once you've bought the game they will simply hide behind the EULA while moving on to make the next game. DA is a perfect example of that, they obviously have no intention of fixing this game, but the mere mention of them "working on or looking into" fixes seems to be enough to make many people still buy every dlc that they rush out without fixing the game.
There are a lot of good games out now and more coming in the future, their failure to support this game in the slightest is going to come back and cost them in the long run, then Bioware will probably get blamed and then stripped down and sold off when EA has ruined their name.

lol ive been reading all the fourms for a few hours now, everyones being ignored and are all giving up on ea and bioware, no wonder why EA are strugling. and for heaven sake if a amatuer modder can patch up things in a matter of days or weeks, what the heck are the so called proffesionals doing in bioware, playing world of warcraft?

Wow after reading all the hate and discontent on this forum (some justifiable, some not so much) it makes me want to light my game and console on fire in protest.

Also really glad I didn't buy any of the DLC other then RtO (boy what a sucker I was)!

Is there going to be a patch for the PS3 for awakening? Or will it be five months from now? Im really tired of seeing my sentinal armor look like warden commander armor. You guys should look at your bugs a little more closely before releasing a video game. Especially for the consol versions because it seems they never get paid much attention. Other than the bugs your games are amazing though.
