A.I.- Artificial Intelligence. Able to both think for themselves and create own ideas and opinions.

Last time I checked thats what makes us different from most species. That and opposable thumbs, which if you look closely Geth pretty much got. :P

Thread necromancy sucks.

They aren't real people because they are damn robots. Self-aware "sentient" robots maybe but still robots. And no matter how much Shepard wants to invite Legion into his bedroom, he is still a cold soulless machine who would steal Shepard's wallet before leaving, and overcharge all of those credit cards at Morlin's shop.

Geth sympathizers are traitors BTW.

Because they are sentient creatures, read some Azamov or watch some TNG then get back to me after you've been educated.

Well, at least it's better than creating yet another duplicate thread.

I think the title of the thread should be, "Why do people treat the Mass Effect universe as if it were reality?" or "Why do I think that the "real people" in Mass Effect are real people and the the geth are not?"

I follow the nihilistic viewpoint that the universe we live in isn't real. I'm not real, you're not real, Mass Effect isn't real.

The Easter Bunny on the other hand... very real. Only it's 6ft tall with blood-red eyes and fangs the size of golf clubs.

Thats more metaphysics.

Hey didn't I already try to derail this thread into that sort of talk earlier?
