I think I'll wager it's Bioware announcing there won't be any DLC ever and that they will now concentrate on ME3. This way I'm certain I won't be disappointed.

Aye, I am expecting they will have payed DLCs eventually, especially later on. But so far the amount of free ones they have given and annouced is suprising.javierabegazo wrote...
That being said, I'm so grateful they're making all this free DLC, it's really quite generous of a Game company, they don't HAVE to do this really

I'll point out that all this "free DLC" is stuff that was clearly cut out of the game to be spoon fed to us as an elaborate form of DRM/anti-second hand purchasing.
Which makes them better than jackass developers who rip content out to sell later *cough*Bethesda*cough* but still worse than those who actually release complete games.. which are a rare breed today, granted.

I am also waiting for the new character before I do anymore playthroughs. I already finished:
Male: Adept, Vanguard (favorite), Sentinel (last missions)
Female: Soldier, will probably add infiltrator after new character or something similiar...maybe another vanguard!

I would like to give BioWare the benefit of the doubt and say that the 'free DLC' is the content that was originally planned for the game, but could not be finished in time (I'm sure EA set the 1/26/2010 deadline). I don't think holding back content for the sake of making people feel better was their true intention. The Angry One wrote...

With 'free DLC', BioWare can release the game in time as well as continue working on the content that they left unfinished. It's better than having it cut permanently from the game and better than waiting a few extra months just so they can 'complete' the game.
We'll have to wait for the paid DLC or entirely new content to see the actual quality of Mass Effect 2 DLC though.

Oh Angry One. Your pessimism is one of the most uplifting parts of my day. And I mean that

Pessimist is never disappointed. Many pessimist I know are actually quite cheery, or should I say, ironic personalities.

I've been counting down the days to 'Awakening', but I'm so frightfully afraid that it's going to be this massive let down (Return to Ostagar really was, and at $40, my expectations are kinda high). So... I guess what I'm saying is that the anticipation for this thing tomorrow gets me all kinds of optimistically excited. If that makes any sense.
