Where is all the LOOT. I used to grind ME1 for days to get the best loot. It wasn't necissary to beat the game but it was a luxury. An extra target to set yourself. Searched for the Heavy Collossus armour for months before i found it. Haven't gone back to ME2 anywhere near as much as ME1.
Please bring back the LOOT for ME3.

I hated grinding for loot. In the end, everyone ended up with the exact same Colossus gear anyway. Is loot really worth it if there's only one thing worth getting?

The upgrade system is way better then picking up countless pieces of the same armor and/or weapons IMO

Intresting took me about 2 hours to get all the Colossus armor and specture X weapons running between my retirement home on In'tiasa and Doc Michel's on the citadel.

They should just do what Borderlands did and just randomise everything that weay everyone gets something unique to that player while other players have something unique to them, of course not go overboard and create 1 million weapons and in the game you atleast see 50 different types of weapons while the other 999950 weapons get ignored or forgotten.

So instead we all get the same n7 armor? And before you say upgrades. Let me point out that me1 had upgrades as well. Many different types, which could drastically alter your effectiveness in certain situations. (Medical exoskeletons, combat exos, etc.)

Only the people that grinded long enough. You say you hated it but you did it by choice.

Come admit it. You loved it you slag.

Nope. I never went out of my way for any specific armor/mod/weapon. I just took the best that I had at the moment. If that was Titan VII, then I wore Titan VII.

Yea, I missed the customization of ME1 in terms of weapons and armor. I think it would be cool to at least have a weapon customization area (like the armor customization) on the normandy that lets you change up your gun, add scopes, grips, bigger clips, different ammo types ect. That would be so awesome exploring the different weapons of the future and being able to customize. This would also give more exploration in the game (looking around for better gun mods).

So maybe you'd have a gun that was super accurate and silent and it's bullets would rip through it's target and continue through others. And I'd have a stronger louder gun, that's bullets would freeze the enemy and then explode. It'd seem plausible.

I'd like more customization, and variation.

But I hated everything about the loot in ME1.

Then you are missing out on a huge part of most RPGs. What would Fallout, Too Human or Final Fantasy be without loot ?
The point is that loot is not something you have to indulge in to enjoy the game. But rather it is an optional extra that is a large part of the game for a lot of people.

RPG's do not mean loot.

Fallout 3, and Final Fantasy, are not Mass Effect, and Mass Effect is not anyone of them.

Loot does not make an RPG, controlling a character to fit a role is what an RPG is mainly about.

Your sir, kindly, are wrong.

So if a game has loot than it is automatically an RPG? because that is what you are saying, and in that case I guess DoW:2 is an RPG then cause you get new wargear in every mission.

I didn't say that loot made the RPG. I said that loot is a large part of all major RPGs . Which it is. So you are wrong and daft.

Lets just clear something up. I am not trying to suggest that loot is the be all and end all of RPGs. I am just saying that loot is a large part of most RPGs including ME1. Please read carefuly before responding.

We are all in the same gear anyway and still end up in the same N7 setups IF the setups are done for stat stacking.
Having optional loot provides an incentive to optionally grind.

Having a game with an optional +1 axe that isn't needed to complete the game. Provides to the type of player an incentive to grind for the optional +1 axe and the type player that doesn't want to get the +1 axe isn't negatively effected since it is optional and not mandatory for the game.

From a post I read...
ME1 has too much.
ME2 has too little.
ME3 should find the right mix.

You didn't seem to get what i was saying. And i'm not wrong. See they have removed or dumbed down on something that is a part of traditional RPGs.
Because of the lack of loot there is reduced customization. And the loot isn't the only thing.
The leveling system has been over simplified too.
Also because of the Renegade/Paragon system you are more or less encouraged to be good or bad and there is little grey area in between. Which again waters down the RPG element.

If you disagree then that is cool. But don't just say you disagree. Formulate your opinion and describe it. Otherwise no-one is interested.
