I know people said this isn't the type of game to grind stuff, but if they respawn, what stops us from grinding for whatever?

If you really want to keep running loops around the low-level areas because you're too scared to tackle the harder stuff until you're grossly over-levelled, then yeah you can do that.

Nothing, if grinding for phat lewtz is what interests you then have at it.flamechamp23 wrote...
thats what i'll do then. So do monsters respawn in every zone and every dungeon, or just a select few? How do we know this? if they do respawn everywhere, then what can stop us from grinding for hours.

Most likely mobs that respawn are not even XP worthy.

That's great, but you don't seem to quite understand how gear works in this game.flamechamp23 wrote...
**** you guys. I'm going to grind for hours until I get some amazing gear that gives me additional thousands of health points and thousands of damage points.

Except it is a toolset, not a SDK. You might sit there thinking "but isn't that just two different words for the same thing?", but it is not.Trigonous wrote...
One thing people don't seem to realize is that this game is being released with a very powerful Software Development Kit. As a long-time player of Bethesda games, I don't even think twice about what you can or can't do in the game, because you can do it with the SDK.
Even though theoretically, you could easily go in and do what you want, it's a tad bit more complicated than it is in Bethesda games, because of the way content is shared.

Still you could just mod or console your way to phat lewts - why waste the time grinding?

Enemies scale with a ceiling-floor sort of system. That is, a rat may scale between levels 2-5, depending on the level of your player character. I believe bosses have greater scaling although, like 8-16 for example.Ansem62 wrote...
I'm hoping the enemies develop in a similar way the monsters did in FF8; they were the average level of your party and at certain levels learned new abilities or tactics
