Hello. The issue that I'm  having is that tonight, after Steam updated all game files, all my dlc's appear properly installed, but also as unauthorised, and so they are disabled. As a further result, I can no longer load my last save of course.

  Can someone please advise?Help!

  Thank you.

Are you sure you're logged in with the proper profile?

Steam just finished updating my game, and everything is fine.

Check that the Dragon Age Origins Content Update service is running. Its not in the patch notes, but the patch might have affected it. Try giving it manual kickstart and then start the game.

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

Check this thread: http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613

In section 3.2.3 there are instructions on how to install the updater service if it's missing.

I'm having a similar problem to yours, except that my service is there, but will not start. When I attempt to start the service, I get a message saying that the service started and then stopped.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the service, getting the latest Windows updates (I'm on Windows 7), and modifying the Log On properties for the Updater service as mentioned in the above linked thread. The service just will not start.

Like Menicus, this only started happening a little while ago when Steam updated my Dragon Age to v1.03.

Yeah... I'm having the same issue. And when I try what Kepha suggested I get "The Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not is use by other services or programs."

And now... I can't load my saved game since it's using content that is now "unauthorized" ~_~ Even though my account on this website clearly shows the DLCs as registered

EDIT: Well timed Java hehe.

The Beta fix for the content updater service, worked for me in fixing this... you can find a link to it in the link in Kepha's profile.

I don't have the steam version, but can one of you check to see whether the steam version of the patch updated daupdatersvc.service.exe or daupdater.exe? (In the bin_ship directory) I just installed Patch 1.03 in on my computer and they weren't touched.

Also make sure you're running the service, daupdatersvc.service.exe, as an administrator. On Windows 7 you can do that by right clicking on Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe and going to Properties->Compatibility and checking Run as administrator.

And, yeah, the DA Updater beta fix might help.  The only thing with that is I don't know yet if something newer might have been included in the 1.03 patch.

It does appear that the beta fix is included in Patch 1.03, they didn't appear to be touched on my computer because I already had the beta fix installed.

Thus I think if things aren't working for you after installing Patch 1.03, using the beta fix application, which is also intended to be a Diagnostic tool is an okay option.

There still is a little part of me that worries that there's something new in Patch 1.03 that would get overwritten by running the beta fix, but it looks like its smart enough to be checking version numbers.

Greetings.A very warm THANK YOU to all people replied.Thank you so very much.I downloaded and executed the beta fix.The service is back, present on the list.I'll try redownloading the dlcs.Only one question to avoid more problems.Should the service be set to manula or automatic?

Thank you again from the heart.

Manual or automatic actually doesn't really matter. Automatic just means that it will start when you restart your computer. But the game tries to be a good citizen and will shut down the service when you exit, and then restart it when you launch the game again. But the restart has some timing issues, where is where most of the issues around the service come into play.

*fingers crossed* With Patch 1.03 including the updater fixes the startup issues should be mostly resolved, but there still might be occasions where you have to go and give the service a manual kickstart.

Hi All:

Having a similar problem, Warden's Keep is not showing on just one of my characters (the one I am currently playing). My other characters seem to be able to access the DLC just fine. I have tried the beta and the services.msc with no luck. Any help would be great.

Does Levi show up in camp to give you the quest?  If not see Section 2 of the DLC In-Game Errors FAQ for instructions on how to reinstall the offer files.

If Levi shows up in camp, and gives you the quest but it just won't show up on the map, try the disable and force load method to make it seem like its newly installed.

*  Go to the Game’s Main Menu
*  Go the Installed Content Tab under Downloadable Content.
*  Clear the checkmark next to Warden's Keep to disable it.
*  Go back to the Main Menu and load your last save. When it gives you a message about DLC being disabled, Force Load the save.
*  Make a new save with Warden's Keep disabled.
*  Exit back to the Main Menu
*  Go back to the Installed Content Tab
*  Click the empty square next to Warden's Keep to bring the checkmark back and reenable the DLC.
*  Load the new save you made.  See if the Soldier's Peak location shows up now.

Hi Kepha:

Thanks for the quick reply. The files are there, I was able to load up a previous game and the content now appears. Thanks for the links and the help!
